    Tiny

I’ve smoked but transitioned over to chewing tobacco over the last several years. Probably 15 years of tobacco use collectively. 8 with chew.I’ll start off by saying you have to WANT to quit or these probably wont work for you. The product itself is great for smokers. Tiny dissolvable lozenges that sincerely kick the craving. I don’t recommend swallowing or you’ll get that nasty nicotine buzz that makes you hiccup…even with the 2mg which I started with. The size is super convenient and inconspicuous. Best of all, you won’t smell like smoke!! You have to follow the guidelines for it to truly work in your favor. The first 3 days were the hardest but I soon found it was just the habit NOT the addiction. I chewed 2 cans of Copenhagen mint pouches a day. (Less tobacco than non pouches)These were great but I was in a pinch and found the Kirkland brand while out and about. They are MUCH larger and take forever to dissolve. Something that I feel helps me tremendously because of my chewing tobacco use. When I use chewing tobacco I usually keep it in for a half hour +/-. So those are better for my case. All in all, get started today. You stink and you know it.

    Quit Smoking

I have been smoke free for 8 months using this product. Using nicotine lozenges 2mg is my life saver, I started out using the 4mg first then after several months I weened myself down to 2mg.

    Fantastic Product

The mini lozenge is perfect. Full lozenges are huge and chalky, these are tic tac size and I can dip them on my gumline without anyone noticing. My only criticism is that 1mg options aren’t available to decrease dosage over time.

    The only thing that works

The only thing that has helped me stay away from vaping and smoking for close to two years. Only trouble is I now can’t stop taking these! Haha. I have tried to wean a few times, they taste good and I take about 5 a day.

    New Manufacturer = Poor Quality

I’ve been using these for a while and have been very happy with the Amazon brand. However, when my latest order arrived, it was obvious that they’re changed manufacturers. The new bottles are noticeably cheaper and harder to open, and the new mints are grainy and don’t taste nearly as nice. My old bottle doesn’t give a place of manufacture, but the new bottles clearly say India. I guess I’m going to bite the price bullet and go back to name brand.

    No nicotine cravings

I smoked from 2000 to 2014. I switched to vaping in 2014. In 2023 I made the goal of getting off vaping. I have been using this product now since early 2023.It has prevented me from suffering nicotine withdrawals, but I have most certainly replaced one addiction with another. I would like to see a reduced nicotine level option, maybe 1 mg. Regardless, it works well. The flavor is ok. Not overpowering, like Altoids or even Lifesavers. You could easily drink orange juice while having this in your mouth and not experience the weird flavor shift. I find it to be an almost neutral flavor. The product works, tastes ok, and is less expensive than many alternatives. Good stuff.

They work, but are large and not much flavor.

These will do in a pinch when you need some nicotine, and they come in convenient tubes for traveling. That being said, I might not buy them again because they taste like chalk with a little bit of flavor that goes away quickly. They are too large and dissolve rather quickly. Not a good value for the money. Nicotine gum is a better deal (price wise) and at least you can continue chewing the gum after the nicotine is gone. If you cannot chew gum, then these are a pretty good option. I would not say to not buy them because they work. They won’t pull out your dental work such as fillings, caps/crowns, bridges or dentures. I personally was not impressed but I would use them if I had to.Update: I ended up ordering more of these because I had some dental work done, and while wearing a temporary crown, I can’t chew any kind of gum. These have come in handy recently. I still prefer the gum, but these get the job done. I also learned how to break these into 4 pieces and just use 1/4 at a time to make them last longer and to try to wean myself off the nicotine.

These are not a good price.

These are not a good price. You can buy these from generic brands such as Kroger and Walmart for cheaper. At Kroger I can get three tubes for $22 and some change. For six tubes is under $45 before tax plus I get gas points. I haven’t bought these for several months but they were normal sized lozenges and the same as you buy in store for generic brands, they even have the same serial number stamped on them. Just FYI, the reason these might upset your stomach is because they are killing the good gut bacteria in your digestive system.

They all curb the cravings, citrus tastes best

I went from smoking, to vaping, to nicotine gum, and now I’m on the lozenges as the final step to breaking the nicotine addiction. Gum was a good transition because it gives your mouth an activity to dull the urges to vape/smoke in a way nicotine alone doesn’t address. Transitioning from gum to lozenges was more difficult than expected, but now the battle is isolated to the chemical dependency and not the extra mechanical motions that go with it.I wasn’t impressed with the mint or cherry flavor, but they are effective at curbing the nicotine cravings. I was thinking the slight sting of nicotine would pair nicely with a lemon flavor, and the citrus flavor did not disappoint. In fact, they’re remarkably good. The citrus lozenges taste like the lemon heads candy, once you get past the sour coating and get to the sweeter center filling. Juicy fruit is another fairly similar comparison. In either case, it has a bit of a “green” / lime vibe to it that blends on nice with the sweet lemon.I’m only deducting a star for the grotesque price gouging games they play. These were $20 not long ago, and jacked up to $30 a couple weeks ago when I last ordered. I went to order again tonight, and now they’re $40. Double the price over the course of several months. At least this is extra motivation to quit. I’ll be biting the 4mg in half instead of ordering 2mg (more cost effective), and this will likely be my last order.

Lozenges changed – not for the better

Longtime user of this product that will now be changing brands. Over the past few months the quality has dropped significantly while the price has skyrocketed. Something changed with their manufacturing (different supplier?) such that many of the lozenges arrive as a broken and a powdery mess making the $/useable lozenge even more expensive. Too bad. This used to be a great product at a great price. Neither are true now.

I have tried gum multiple times. I have tried patches many times. Started these sceptical. Followed the chart and after about a month and a half, I started forgetting to take my dose. I was chewing 1 to 2 cans a day! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying these.

This is a very good product and does what it is intended to do. The price has now become inflated to the point I will look elsewhere. And yes, I have found the same type product elsewhere at a more attractive price. Its too bad as having these delivered via subscribe and save was very convenient.

    Great “Stop Smoking Aid”.

These Amazon Basic Care 2 mg Nicotine Polacrilex Lozenges are good! The the mint taste is fine. I don’t know how all theses other people talk about a chocky texture and no taste, I guess they have some unusual issues with their mouths. If you want to stop smoking cigarettes and need to save some money these days, then these Mint Lozenges will do the trick!

They work, and you save money from Smoking/vaping

It takes time to lower the dosage over time, but they’re not chalky like the bigger lozenges, and it won’t upset your stomach. If you really need a nicotine boost, get the 4mg or just chew one, but not recommended to eat or chew them often as it’s stated on the directions. Good luck and enjoy your health using them.

Decent Price but not long lasting

Good value compared to other more expensive brands. However, I found myself going through almost a whole container in a single day as the lozenges disolved very quickly compared to other brands. Despite less nicotine content than 4mg version available in most stores, I ended up consuming substantially more nicotine over same time period.

    Chalky and messy.

It’s been a couple of years since Nicorette stopped making the solid, long-lasting lozenge. Haven’t found a brand that compares. This one in particular has caused me trouble. Unscrew it and the white powder is on you. I’ve often put on slacks straight out of the laundry and had to change because of the white stains. This has motivated me to quit lozenges and switch to the gum.Another potential problem: my dentist swears these are damaging my teeth. If you have more cavities, especially in the back teeth, consider this possibility.

    Great Value for the Money

I have been looking for a product that helps with quitting smoking but have not found one that does not cause me discomfort. This is the first stop-smoking lozenge that does not cause me discomfort in my stomach. It is convenient to carry in a small bottle and the lozenge is the size of a small pill so it’s not noticeable in public.

Identical to Equate without the Trip to Wally World

TL;DR: Avoid the hassle, save a few bucks and buy from Amazon. I’ve been smoke free for ten+ years; I don’t like smoking but I do like nicotine. I’ve used Nicorette (way too minty) before switching to Equate. The problem with Walmart is it’s a real drag to go to the store, wait for some associate to unlock the cabinet, escort you like a criminal to the register wasting 45 minutes of your day. Amazon delivers; no hassle at all. The minis are identical in every way to the Equate brand: strength, taste, container, and even the stamped lot number on the tabs looks the same. I wouldn’t be surprised if the supplier was the same for both. Amazon needs to bring the price back down, these are getting way to expensive and I will go elsewhere.

So helpful, and less nasty than other lozenges!

I’ve been using a patch and these mints to quit smoking. The lozenges are EXTREMELY helpful, whenever I have a craving I use one and the cravings go away. I’ve never had this easy of an attempt to quit smoking. I think it’ll be my last quit, so I am grateful for these lozenges for keeping me going. Also, they are not as gross as other lozenges and Dont burn my throat

    Wonderful alternative.

I’ve been through it all. Gum patch prayer hypnosis etc. This is an action (sucking) that is similar to smoking and lasts about as long as gum chewing or passively sticking a bandage on your shoulder. I highly recommend them as a replacement, even if you don’t quit. I quit in places, home, car, and office, and smoked outside for a long time, replacing everywhere with a lozenge. Finally, I gave that last “allowed” smoking place up and have been fine. (Although, not going to lie, I miss smoking)Try the lozenges, I like the cherry best.

    No thanks, I don’t smoke

I finally quit smoking just over 8 months ago, and these lozenges were integral to that. I had the 2mg citrus flavor, but I also used the cherry ice flavor in 2mg and liked those but liked this flavor a little better. They definitely deliver enough nicotine (for me) quickly to take the edge off the craving. For context, I quit smoking while my husband continues to smoke, so realistically I can just walk into his office at any time and steal a cigarette if I wanted to. I didn’t want to, and these lozenges definitely helped. In the past I have used other brands and the larger lozenges, but these tasted better, didn’t dissolve as “chalky,” and weren’t taking up a lot of real estate in my mouth. I like to just tuck them in my cheek along the gumline outside my teeth and let them dissolve there, occasionally moving them to the other side etc. I still have them around, but for the most part am not using these any more. I didn’t try to wean off the lozenges, it just happened naturally over time. If you really want to quit, find what works for you and stick with it. For me, it was these mini-lozenges.

Too acidic, taste like cough drops

The flavor is similar to a bad cold medicine. I do not recommend and will not buy again. I suffered through a box and found the cherry Walgreens version which is so much better I can’t touch the Amazon brand anymore. If you want to quit smoking you can’t do it with an upset stomach and mouth sores. Don’t use this brand.

Careful – mini vs full lozenge sizes

Amazon mixes their mini lozenges with their full size lozenges on the sizing selector. The two are entirely different products. I accidently ordered the 144x count as the larger mini lozenges were out of stock and was surprised to get the full sized lozenges.

    New Manufacturer?

I have had Amazon lozenges on subscribe and save for years. (I know you’re not supposed to be on them that long, but it’s better than smoking) they have been my favorite brand over any other I’ve tried. love them. The most recent delivery is clearly from a different manufacturer. The bottle/lid are slightly different and they taste awful. I would like to know if this is a permanent switch. If so I will definitely be canceling and exploring other options.

I quit smoking years ago and went to vaping. I then switched to lozenges and haven’t gone back. This brand is cheaper but are just as good as any others. I break them in half or even quarters sometimes, makes the bottles last longer and good for just taking the edge off.

Dang it. They changed the formula. It’s gritty

The 2 mg were perfect in the past orders. This is my first order that has changed in consistency. The 4mg minis were always a tad gritty. But, I preferred the 2 mg dosage anyway, so that was ok. But, they just changed the 2 mg to the same format/texture as the 4mg. Which truly isn’t as pleasant and smooth. This is a real bummer. I hope they go back to the original recipe. Or, it’s a sign that it’s time to quit these overall. Oh well.

    Tore up my mouth

This is not my first time using nicotine lozenges, I do know that they can sometimes irritate the mouth but these one really did a number on my mouth after just one. These are huge (about the diameter of a dime but much thicker) considering you’re suppose to tuck them under your tongue or in your cheek for 20-30 minutes. It’s hard to be inconspicuous when your socializing with it in your mouth due to its size. I think the large size and shape might have something to do with why it tore up my mouth so much. The cherry taste isn’t bad but definitely not great. I prefer mint. Overall, these were my least favorite nicotine lozenge for size, taste, and the sores in my mouth.

    Changed formula

My most recent order has a different bottle shape and different taste. They’re mushy, grainy and way too minty. Yuck! After checking the other reviews and seeing others who noted this terrible change and that they’re no longer sugar free, I chatted with the customer service bot and got a refund. No way I’m spending over a hundred bucks a month on this garbage! Thank God the ones at kroger are still good! I hope Amazon figures out nobody likes this garbage and switches back. But I doubt I’ll know because after this I don’t think I’ll buy any more.

Finally what helped me quit vaping!

Wow, I’m so impressed. I’ve been trying to quit vaping for a while and these mini lozenges helped me do it! I started working from home and started vaping way too much with my stressful job. It seemed impossible to quit without my anxiety levels getting too high. Now I pop 2mg lozenge under my tongue and my desire to vape goes away.If you really want to quit, I suggest throwing away your vape and forcing yourself to only use these. My need to smoke went away within a few days (way faster than I thought) and my anxiety levels never got out of control like they have when I’ve tried to quit with other products. These come in convenient little bottles that are easy to throw in your purse or pocket. I’ve found over time I take less and less of the lozenges throughout the day.Other reviews mention that they coat your mouth dissolving. It helps to put it under your tongue and if you take a sip of water, your mouth will feel fine. I put one under my tongue and it lasts a long time (30ish min maybe?)I highly recommend these!

How am I supposed to have 9/day?

It’s only day one, so I don’t know if they get more bearable as time goes on.It’s been just under 10hrs since I grabbed my first ever lozenge this morning and I’ve only gotten through 1.5 and that’s not quite enough nicotine. Even if I were chewing them against directions I don’t think I could manage the suggested dosage of 9+ per day for the first 6 weeks.Cherry NyQuil flavored Tums (seriously, that’s my take) is definitely not the worst medication I’ve had, but I would guess the “20-30” mins to dissolve doesn’t take into consideration those of us on medications that cause chronic dry-mouth issues. I’m worried that the dry mouth may cause ulcers on my gums just from having a foreign object up there. That said, I’m pretty optimistic. I’m a 1/2 to 1pack /day smoker and went my full work day with just a couple “smoke breaks” of popping a hard candy and pulling random weeds in the yard like I do when I have a cigarette. Even the tiny amount of nicotine held back the worst of the withdrawal – the irritability and needing to step away was all about my coworkers.Even if this doesn’t work perfectly… I’m allergic to the adhesive on every patch I’ve tried, my dry-mouth has contributed to very expensive dental work that makes gum a no-no, and it’s much more chill than cold turkey.I may, however, update as things progress.Update: switched to mint as the cherry was just too gross tasting to me. Haven’t had a cigarette in 100 days. The 12 week suggested schedule was too short for me, but most days I don’t use a lozenge at all.

recipe changed, but here’s how to tell

Update: Added this after looking more closely at this product. You can tell what it is by the NDC # on the package. The minis we’ve all known and loved are: NDC- 72288-734-01. This new version, which has different ingredients, including corn syrup so it’s not even sugar free on top of tasting terrible is NDC-72288-694-83. Totally different product and I am surprised Amazon isn’t required to state that, rather than telling us the packaging is different. Nobody cares that the packaging is different. For those of you who have ordered these in the past and liked the soft mint, as opposed to the sharp mint of other brands, forget it. These taste horrible, they’ve clearly contracted this out to the same company that makes all the other crap tasting nicotine minis. Packaging is the same, product is not. They are a burning mint and gritty, just like all the other crap brands. AND, they’ve raised the price. So ridiculous to do this with a product people become loyal to AND will order on the regular. As well, and as a minimum, Amazon should alert people to the fact that it’s not going to taste the same, considering what they’re charging for them. This move is about as clever as New Coke.

    Mint or Citrus?

If you have difficulty with mint flavors, this citrus flavor is a great option. It helps when the urge hits. The flavor is much milder than the mint flavor. I will definitely purchase again.

    Does the job

I tried the mint and the citrus Amazon brand 2mg mini lozenges. I also will compare it to the nicorette 2mg mini lozenges and the habitrol 2mg regular lozenge.Tldr: I would go with Amazon brand if you’re concerned about price and want an easy experience. They work fine. And get the mint flavor. If you want to have the lowest price possible go with habitrol 2mg and split them into quarters. If you want the most effective lozenge: go with nicorette mini mint. I probably would start with Nicorette when you’re first quitting, then switch to another brand once you get the hang of it.—I used lozenges to quit vaping, which I’ve done for many years, and I couldn’t believe that I was able to do it. They definitely work. Note that I vaped at a very low nicotine dose: the lowest you can get, so this dose worked just fine for me.What I did to quit is I filled a vape pen with 0mg nicotine to help fight the physical addiction, while at the same time using these lozenges. And I reminded myself every time I used the pen that it had no nicotine so it was doing nothing for me. Telling myself this really helped me use it less and less. Then what I did was I tried to stop using the 0mg pen after my use of it naturally tapered down. Whenever I got an urge to vape, I took one of these and put it under my tongue. I reminded myself it will take a minute or so to kick in so I need to wait and resist the pen. And magically, the urge to pick up the pen disappeared in minutes thanks to this stuff. So this was definitely a success story for me. My only regret is not doing it sooner. Now onto the comparison between this and other options:So the best thing about Amazon brand is the price. You will save a lot of money if you go with this over the nicorette minis. I like the minis over the normal size because it doesn’t take up much room in your mouth and the container to hold them is small and fits in your pocket or purse. I like to put them under my tongue as I get the feeling they are irritating and damaging my gums next to my teeth when I put them in my cheek. And the mini size works well for under the tongue. They only downside is the Amazon brand disintegrates faster than nicorette. But it doesn’t immediately disintegrate. Just make sure you just park it there and don’t rub it with your tongue which will increase the speed of disintegration. The bottle of the Amazon brand doesn’t look at flashy as the nicorette brand, which had a stylish curve. Also the nicorette bottle is slightly smaller. But the nicorette bottle has an effective child safety tab on it that is difficult for me to push in. So I prefer the Amazon brand bottle simply because it’s easier to open.So far as mint flavor comparison: the Amazon mint is a lot milder than nicorette. The nicorette 2mg mint flavor is much stronger and piercing. In fact, the nicorette was so strong that it was causing the skin under my tongue to get literally raw. I would need to switch it to the other side and I could tell there was some damage to my mouth from it when it sat in one place too long But it healed quickly and wasn’t as bad as say a heat burn from hot food. Despite the mouth irritation, I still prefer the nicorette because it just lasts longer and I prefer the flavor. Also, the extra tingling you get from nicorette tricks your mind a bit more to tell you it’s working. Now, you should try not to swallow the saliva that has the dissolved pill. I got the feeling that swallowing the saliva with the Amazon brand hurt my stomach more than nicorette. It’s probably because nicorette dissolves slower. In either case, it doesn’t hurt too much, but I did feel a little ill from these: moreso the citrus flavor over the mint though. On to Amazon brand flavor: the citrus tasted kind of nice at first, but after a few hours the flavor was gross. I think that swallowing the citrus had some ingredient that made me feel ill or had a bad aftertaste. Though I’ll still used up the bottle because this stuff is expensive and it still works. I haven’t tried the cherry but I definitely prefer mint so far.Now on to comparison to habitrol. Let me say that the first time I tried the 2mg nicorette, it was way too strong. I felt dizzy. However, later on, it didn’t have this effect anymore. But I did purchase the 1mg habitrol because of this. Habitrol is the only brand I’ve found so far with 1mg.I didn’t like the habitrol because it was kind of weird. The whole habitrol pill is in layers and it gets a fuzzy texture as the layers dissolve. And they don’t have a mini version It’s a very mild mint flavor that I think is a little nicer than the Amazon brand. Though it’s chalky. I think it’s a nicotine and non nicotine layer on the habitrol pill. Also I don’t like how big the habitrol pill is. But I may switch to it when I try to quit lozenges because it’s the only 1mg pill out there.Note on cost: I was measuring my usage to get the best price and I found that the 2mg habitrol is a MUCH better deal than any of the other brands when I use a pill cutter to cut them into quarters so they’re the size of the minis. I used 5.5 mini pills per day of the Amazon brand and 4 big pills per day of the habitrol. This comes up to using $2.4 per day for Amazon and $0.72 per day for habitrol. So a comparison to nicorette gum: the nicorette ice mint gum is absolutely delicious. However I am not able to get it to deliver the nicotine consistently. You’re supposed to chew the gum and then park it, then chew and park. It just became a dull flavor and I just couldn’t tell if any nicotine was left or not. The lozenges are way more consistent and you always know they’re doing their job if they’re present. So while I loved the gum flavor, I think I’ll stick with the lozenges.Ultimately I’d like to try the patch because I don’t like the idea of swallowing nicotine and there is a vague rumor of mouth cancer risk: however this is not confirmed so don’t get too worked up about that. But I still think that to satisfy your physical addiction with the mouth, it’s good to start out with lozenges. I’m going to try out the patch and if it’s effective, I’ll just go with that. At first I didn’t believe that simply having a patch would be enough to cure the overwhelming desire to inhale vapor and mouth fixation. But after experiencing the powerful effects of delivering nicotine to your bloodstream in any form, I realized that the patch is likely going to work just fine. However, I like the idea of being able to taper down more easily and have more control over my dose with the pills.Okay that’s about it. I hope this helps someone else who is trying to decide what to get to quit. And congrats on doing this for yourself! It is totally worth it. I’ve always been an advocate of vaping to quit cigarettes and hated the scare mongering, but I myself have experienced health effects after vaping for 10 years. For one, handling the nicotine juice caused my fingers to peel. Little bits would get on my hands despite trying to be careful not to let it. This had been going on for about years now and has gotten increasingly worse and awful, even causing my nail bed to separate slightly. I never believed that vaping had caused it, but since quitting my finger pads have already started to turn back to normal. So unfortunately I realize now that the vaping was the likely cause.Another thing is I started suffering from migraines and hormonal headaches for like 5-7 years ago or so. I’m not sure if vaping caused it but now I’m wondering. And lately in the past few months, I’ve started getting a consistent ear ache that is in the canal that connects to my throat. I realize that the consistent irritation to my nasal passages has likely caused these.I also in the past few months I started developing an issue where i am constantly having to clear my throat to stop sounding like a frog when I talk. To a point where it starts to be embarrassing. It’s these symptoms which finally gave me the kick in the butt that I need to change. I’ll update later if I find these symptoms were caused by other things. It took me years for these symptoms to start up: but I just wanted to share this to encourage others to quit before these effects build up over time. My ear ache has already started to subside and my frog throat has already reduced a ton. I’m hoping the headaches also reduce, thinking maybe my chronically inflamed sinuses could have been a factor.Good luck to everyone on their journey to better health. And if this was helpful to you consider upvoting.

    Yuck

Amazon is always out of the 2 mg 144 count mint packs. I thought I’d try these. Like the other mini’s, the aspartame in it is overwhelming. If they had the whole tablet iced cherry, it may be better. Since I tried one, I guess I can’t return it.

Same product, fraction of the cost of others

Giving up cigarettes and chew is hard. This product allows oral intake of nicotine to counter the physical problem. Plus, while this brand is the same product, it can be half the cost of outside providers. Not only do you get health benefits of cigarette elimination but it’s at 10% the cost of cigarettes, 50% the cost of pharmacy brands. The bad is that, while you eliminate the horrid smoke’s chemicals (and lung problems) you are still consuming nicotine. The idea is to use these to break the cigarette habit then wean off of these, maybe using hard candy. After nearly a year I’m still on these. Nicotine introduced by these is still a problem, and I have occasions when I feel the need to destroy my lungs with cigs, I am less health-inflicted than before (and haven’t taken up the equally problematic vapes). You also eliminate “smoker’s breath” and some tooth problems.
