Beats smoking
My husband has been trying to quit smoking for a long time now. He turned to vaping but it’s still an expensive habit. He’s been trying to put down the vape and has tried using lozenges, gum, even small lollipops and Nicorette. He does like the flavor of Nicorette but we decided to give these a try from Amazon because the cost is much better. These come in a very large pack which is a good value. The gum itself is uncoated and the flavor is quite minimal. He can’t chew the gum for long so he’s been adding it to the gum he likes so he can chew it longer and so the taste is better which is actually a good combo for him. He’s vaping a lot less which is a huge benefit. For the overall benefits and value of this gum, I’d say it’s worth it.

Affordable Nicotine Replacement Therapy
I have been a cigarette smoker for years and due to some life events had to move into an apartment, which are all non-smoking these days. Was looking for something to quell the cravings while at home. There are several types of Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT) including gum. In non-smoking locations gum is one of the few options available to reduce the cravings.There are a few potential side affects from using gum, such as nausea, because the nicotine is absorbed into the mouth and stomach. This gum is a lower concentrate at 2mg which reduces this possible side effect. The mint is more noticeable in the smell than the taste. The tingling in the mouth from the nicotine starts after about 20-30 seconds of chewing the gum. The nicotine feels like it is completely released within 5 minutes (quick release). It is non-coated meaning no outer layer of sugar. It is in blister packs to preserve freshness. Each one can be separated so you could have 10 packaged pieces in a pocket or one 10-pack sleeve.Everyone is different so the strength may work for some. If it does not, with the lower dosage you can chew 2 or 3 pieces at the same time. With so many in the box using 2 at a time is reasonable. If you like gum and are a smoker, this is a good value option.

Does not taste good at all. Same flavor Habitrol is superior. These are uncoated and gross. They are very difficult to open, there is a layer of paper you have to remove, much like cold medicine pills.

This is a steal !!
I quit smoking a decade ago and used nicorette to help me with that. After years of not smoking, I thought vaping would be ok here and there. So here I am now quitting vaping. I saw this 310 pack for the cost of what 150 pieces of the brand name cost so thought I’d give it a try. It has a perfect minty flavor that isn’t too overwhelming. These are pretty mild in flavor, which is actually my preference. This type is usually a little firmer to chew or get started on. I knew that going in. The mere smell of cigarettes puts me off.The problem now is that I got addicted to vaping instead. It’s less harmful than smoking but it’s an addiction nonetheless.These lozenges help satiate the nicotine cravings and they do help reduce the number of times I reach for the vape. The flavor is not unpleasant but it’s not something I’d seek out.Overall, it’s a good alternative to Nicorette if you’re trying to quit. The flavor of this gum is not particularly delicious, but it’s not unpleasant either. Maybe it’s good that it’s not too tasty? It is nicotine, after all. It is an uncoated piece of gum, meaning you don’t get that sweet candy burst. The 2mg pieces can be cut in half as you reduce your nicotine, if you desire. I started smoking from stress after 45 years! Now I’m weaning away from it with help from the nicotine gum and mints. The Amazon brand is great; for the price you get a lot of product, far more than the big name brands.

This 2mg gum doesn’t have as minty of a taste as Nicorette, but it’s pretty good, and better than other store brand nicotine gums I’ve tried. The price per piece is better than Nicorette and similar to other store brands (unless there’s a sale on the store brand). It comes blister packed, as typical for nicotine gum, and has a decent shelf life (the package I received in December 2021 has an expiration date of November 2023).A good option, along with the patches and lozenges, that is helpful for ditching the cigarettes.

Great value
Not as good to me as the regular flavor but works the same. Excellent value. Helps with quitting chewing Tabaco or smoking. I don’t think this is going to help anyone quit if they don’t prepare in other ways. A good book I would recommend to go along with this in your plan to quit is: The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. understand that habits are habits because they become rooted deep in our brains. Queue and reward over and over. This gum can replace the reward but it’s good to understand how habits are created in order to change them. Good luck.

Much too hard to chew, poor quality.
This gum is pretty terrible. If you are familiar with nicotine gums, there is a huge range in what you get with some crazy expensive brands that are good and taste like gum, and alternatives that are more like spicy cardboard. This gum sadly falls in the latter category.I wish this gum was better because it’s an amazing price. And the high price of nicotine gums is an unfortunate reality because many people are trying to make healthier choices by using the gum. This gum does have nicotine, and you can suck on it, chew it a little, stick it in your cheek and get some nicotine. But it’s not at all enjoyable and may even aggravate your TMJ if you try to chew it because it’s so hard. It’s uncoated and the gum is not soft at all. It aggravated my TMJ so much I can’t use this gum.I would not recommend this gum. If you are going to spend money on nicotine gum, get something that tastes like gum and won’t hurt your jaw.

2mg Mint Flavor Gum at an Inexpensive Price Versus a Major Brand
I smoked for over a decade and was able to quit thanks, in part, to nicotine gum. I was a “polite” smoker and didn’t light up in the house, the car, or when I had company over. If you can manage the amount of cigarettes you smoke in a similar manner then you will probably be fine with 2mg gum. Or you can do what I did and chew half a piece of 4mg gum each time. Even now it seems the price of 2mg and 4mg gum are roughly the same so you’re basically getting twice the amount of nicotine gum for roughly the same price. (I hope I don’t get my review yanked for suggesting this.)When compared to the lozenges, I still prefer the gum because you can stick the gum between your cheek and gums and forget about it. I found the lozenges would not stay in place and moved around a lot, especially in the upper half of the gums. That was really annoying and it would make me want a cigarette.I don’t know what else to say other than I’m no one special and I was able to quit so you should be able to. The gum has a “peppery” flavor along with the mint. That “pepper” is the nicotine. Also, don’t chew this stuff like regular gum. Chew it until you taste the pepper flavor then park it. Once the pepper goes away, chew it a little more then park it.Good luck in your effort to quit!

This gum is not too bad to use if you are serious about quitting. It does reduce cravings but it only an additional aid to help quit. When chewing the gum, there was no extreme bad taste to it. The flavor last for a quite a bit of time. It is not too strong but definitely something you have to get used to. It has the same effect as most over the counter gum nicotine gum. You can chew it for quite sometime to reduce the amount of gum you may need in a day. The packaging is very similar. All you need to do is push the gum out and start chewing. Do not use more than instructed as this is still a drug you are taking to help reduce your cigarette craving. Overall this does work but the person has to want to quit. It does help reduce craving but does not eliminate it. In terms of taste, this is suppose to be a gum that helps you quit and you should not expect it to taste the best. The flavor does take a bit of time to get used to. It works just as well as most over the counter nicotine gum.

Not bad
I’ve quit smoking a few too many times. This time I’m using nicotine gum to help. It’s working great. This product is ok. The flavor is not strong at all. I prefer a stronger mint taste. But the flavor isn’t bad, it actually tastes like regular mint gum. There’s no chemical taste. The amount you get for the price is great. I’ve used this brands other flavor and strength (ice mint 4mg) and prefer it over this one. The texture is different with this product, a bit more tough at first. All in all it does what it should. I’d definitely buy this brand again.

Works well and inexpensive
These are definitely a viable alternative, and a good deal! These Amazon Basic Care Nicotine Polacrilex Uncoated Gum 2 mg Nicotine in mint flavor are far less expensive than the big name brand. And honestly not bad texture and taste at all. The texture is more waxy than Nicolette, and the taste is not as minty as the big name brand. But it still has a nice mellow mint taste to it. And as far as how well they actually work they get an A+. Great value!

A Poor Man’s Nicorette
I’m a long-time Nicorette user and thought I’d try this Amazon Basic Care nicotine gum for a change. Alas, the flavor does not compare favorably to Nicorette. It’s a rather stale-tasting gum without much of a mint taste, and it doesn’t last as long as a piece of Nicorette. However, price-wise it’s a veritable bargain compared to Nicorette. The current price on Amazon for this gum is $34.50 for 310 pieces, which is only eleven cents per piece — less than half the cost of Nicorette. So, if you’re looking to save money on nicotine gum, this is a bargain buy.

Great for trying to quit smoking/vaping
I switched to vaping about 7 years ago after on and off smoking. I finally decided to give up vaping and switched to chewing gum and using lozenges as a source of nicotine. I have used many different brands of nicotine gum and while I can’t say I have ever found a gum that I enjoy, it certainly is much better than a smoking or vaping habit. This gum ranks up there with all the other gums I have tried. It does take a bit to get used to and the flavor dissipates fairly quickly, but again, this isn’t a gum you chew for enjoyment. I found that chewing it along with a piece of regular gum helps a lot with the flavor. I have been able to wean myself from the 4mg to the 2mg and am now doing about 50/50 between regular gum and this nicotine gum. Little steps but for anyone who has smoked, you know every little step is an accomplishment. Do yourself a favor and try it!

world’s worst packaging
i don’t know why manufacturers won’t move away from this pill-like packaging. first thing i do with one if these packages is spend literally 30 minutes with a pocket knife cutting each piece of gum out of its case and then storing them in a ziplock (you can’t pop them out like pills because they’re too soft for that — it’s way easier to just use a knife). wish i could save 30 minutes of my life and just buy these packaged that way to begin with, but everybody seems to be using the same BS packaging.taste is fine. nothing special, not bad: pretty neutral flavor. better than Walgreen’s cinnamon flavor, which is my only point of comparison.

The health benefits of NOT smoking justify the cost of any nicotine replacement …
My husband was an on again, off again smoker, but has done quite well in maintaining his quit. He alternates between 2 mg and the 4 mg, depending on his cravings at the moment. He always manages to have a piece of gum or lozenge in his mouth instead of smoking a tobacco product. We have been purchasing nicotine replacement in a variety of forms, including gum and lozenges.On one level, it’s exchanging one habit for another. Instead of smoking, he’s now got a nicotine addiction. I have no problem with that because in my book, it’s much less harmful than the smoking. He always manages to have gum or a lozenge in his mouth, but there are no harmful chemicals going into his lungs. Expensive? Yes, but the health benefits of not smoking justify the cost.There are a whopping 310 pieces in this package, which will make the transition much more affordable. A package of Nicorette Gum (same flavor, same mg) is approximately $60 for 170 pieces. Do the math … which would you choose? My husband has used both and sees little to no difference. No flavor. Hard to chew. NO RETURNS.
I spent $50 on this nicotine gum because it had good reviews. I don’t know how. I ordered the mint flavor but there is absolutely zero flavor and it’s hard as a hockey puck.Tried to contact Amazon for a return. I just received the item in the mail yesterday.They won’t allow me to return it. Now Im out $50. I should have just bought the name brand.

Anyways, This review is for the original “uncoated” Gum 2 mg (Nicotine), Mint Flavor to Help Quit Smoking This minty flavor Gum certainly needs a new “acquired taste” to like them as they do not blast your mouth with minty or fruity flavor instantly like the other coated types of gums do. The color of the chewing gum is white and while I cannot surely confirm or deny that it could cause tooth discomfort or not, but I must admit, it does take considerable amount of effort to get used to these gums. There seems to be a soft rubbery feeling and some amount of liquid or gel that tends to ooze out disperse within your mouth that has a sweet but sure medicinal type of taste with slight minty hint.In the end with all said and done, This is still much better than smoking the real cigarettes as it does help with the urge when you feel like smoking. It still does the job and while it requires a lot of chewing for the nicotine to be released. I personally did not like this minty flavor but knowing that you get 310 pieces (a lot) compared to most other leading brands and same price range I am bumping up my rating from 3 stars to 4 for value. I bought uncoated, my bad
I bought this product before with great results however after my last purchase I found that the gym has no flavor at all. The only difference between other times I have ordered this gum and now is I ordered a larger box. Very disappointed.

I thought I ordered 4 MG lol
I have been using it thinking it was 4 MG it’s crazy how placebo effect works lol the taste is pretty good I didn’t like the strong mint before it’s perfect for me I guess I ll keep using 2 MG and maybe it’s a sign to quit as I have been using nicotine gum for so many years in place of smoking. Not really to quit smoking anymore
