Nice appearance with grippers on the ends
This is a very nice tension rod. I used it to hang a valance over a window that is between two cabinets. The rods fits nicely and the grippers on each end ensure that it it stable. I know that the rod is listed as a shower curtain rod but I would be hesitant to use it for that as it is quite lightweight. If you have curtains or a valance to hang this should do the trick!

It Works
Easy to install. I moved into a brand new apartment and they thought they were so modern in the design. The installed shower curtain rods are so high that there are no shower curtains long enough to fit. So this item was purchased and works perfectly. Works well, decent price, no complaints! Haven’t had any issues with it falling and have had it for 6 months now. I always recommend that even though it’s extendable, to get the minimum size (AKA size when not extended) closest to your actual needed size, because I think these products are more likely to have issues with falling/failing to keep tension when they are extended to their maximum length.

Secure tension bar with multiple uses
I had initially bought one of these for my shower, as a replacement for an old bent one. It has worked very well in that capacity. It bears a fair amount of weight – the shower curtain and liner that are normally on it is no problem, but neither are several soaking wet garments that I have from time to time left there to dry.I recently bought a second one of these to mount on the opposite side of the shower. My shower has no shower bar or anywhere to hang washcloths, safety mats, etc. So I decided to take a somewhat unconventional page and install a second shower curtain rod. It works great. I have my safety mat up there in between showers and occasionally hang wet clothing there to dry. The amount of tension is adjustable, as is the length, so you can have a great deal of flexibility with how you set it up.

Great as a regular curtain rod
I have a gigantic space between my kitchen and my living room. So I bought one of these and am using it to hold blackout curtains to keep the heat in my living area and also to keep it dark if I’m watching movies. It’s a great tension rod. Very durable. It’s a good purchase.

Be very careful which size/model you order
I know people want tension rods for both curtains and SHOWER curtains, but you really need different levels of sturdiness for the two things in most cases. Unfortunately, Amazon has merged the two concepts into one listing. Pay close attention as you switch between sizes; smaller sizes, even up to 70 inches, are flimsier SHOWER curtain rods that can’t hold much weight.Note the listing titles. Some will say “curtain tension rod,” and others will say “shower curtain tension rod,” but again, they’re all part of this same listing. If you’re looking to hang heavier curtains, especially blackout curtains, you can’t have a flimsy rod and expect it to be safe.I accidentally got the shower curtain version of the nickel rod, and it was unsurprisingly on the flimsy side (though fine for a shower curtain, sure!); rated to hold around 7 lbs. It did technically work for my use case, but I believe it would eventually fall with my blackout curtains, which were exactly 7 lbs. So, I’m sending it back and have purchased what appears to be the heavier duty curtain version, which is said to be longer and able to hold 12 lbs. Again, these are both nickel rods under the same listing, so pay close attention.Otherwise, this product seems fine, even good for the money, and easy enough to install. Considering blackout shades DID technically stay up with the flimsy rod, I’m pretty impressed.

Great for curtains as well
It was great priced for what I needed. I have a curtain hanging in my doorway so my animals can con in and out of my room at will while I keep the cool air from the AC in my room. It’s strong, and extremely easy to use. No assembly required. Had three grown pan in the rear cats dangling off the curtain at the same time and this thing held. Good stuff.

Bedroom is now a bat cave.
This curtain rod is set up across two windows that are side by side where we didn’t want to drill holes in the wall. It has been able to support 4 blackout curtains. After two months, there has been zero slips that would require insulating again. There is a tiny sag in the middle but not even half an inch.If I could go back, I would buy this again.
