Q1: Why doesn’t the shredder work after plugging in?
A1: Please make sure you assemble the shredder head and basket in the correct directions. The front of the shredder head should be aligned with the each side of the trash can.
A2: Overheating Protection, this design with 3 minutes continuous run time with 40 minutes of cool down after use again.
A3: Paper jams can also be one of the reasons for not working- Please use the FWD and REV functions to clean up the cutter scraps.
Q2: The cross-cut shredder is jammed. What should I do?
A1: Please switch to FWD mode and shred the jammed paper compulsorily. If there are too many paper scraps in the feed slot, slide to FWD mode for a few seconds and then to REV mode for a few seconds to clear it.
A2: With stubborn situations, you may need to clean the jammed paper with shredder oil. Start by drizzling oil into the feed slot where the paper is jammed. Let it soak for about 30 minutes, and turn the shredder to Auto-On mode, a rigid sheet of cardstock (or folded file folder) can be fed into the shredder to help push the jammed paper through With the shredder unplugged.
Q3: Why is the number of sheets that can be shredded lower than the maximum number of sheets described?
A1: Please check if the paper is damp, contains plastic is too thick, if so, please let the paper dry before shredding, or remove the plastic part, or reduce shredding papers per pass. To extend the lifetime of the paper shredder, please don’t shred more than 5-6 sheets at one time.

SHORT LIFESPAN
I purchased this shredder about a year ago from my home office and it’s already dying.Typically, I shred a handful of items here and there through out the year, and then, once a year, I’ll shred a stack of documents to clean things up and make space for the coming year. My old shredder handled the load well—even if it could only do 1-3 pages at time—and lasted well over ten years.This shredder did great in the beginning. It handled the handful of pages here and there well. But when I started my annual purge the other week, it struggled to shred more than 1-2 pages at a time, over heated quickly, and the switch between settings broke when I tried to switch it on to auto. At least forward still works, but now the machine has to be unplugged to turn off and it can’t shred more than a handful of pages before the pages just stick in the machine while it’s still running.It worked great in the beginning, but it’s disappointing to have to replace something that’s barely a year old.

I bought this the end of April for personal use. We BARELY use it. Turned it on the other day and the switch just freely slides. No turning it in or off it’s just ON. Called customer service and they are emailing a video on how to fix it!!! WTH Why am I fixing your junk? If you have had so many problems you have made a video on how to fix it. MAYBE RECALL YOUR JUNK AND FIX IT YOURSELF!!!
