Q1: The cross-cut shredder is jammed. What should I do?
A1: Please slide the switch to REV and pull up the paper. Shred again after removing the paper. If the paper is almost totally in the feed slot and can’t be taken out, slide the switch to OFF first, then slide to FWD to shred the jammed paper.
Q2: How often should I lubricate the document shredder?
A2: In order to prolong the service life of the paper shredder, please use a professional paper shredder lubricating sheet or oil to lubricate the machine once or twice a month.
Q3: Why is the number of sheets that can be shredded lower than the maximum number of sheets described?
A3: Please check if the paper is damp, contains plastic or too thick. If so, please let the paper dry before shredding, or remove the plastic part, or reduce shredding sheets per pass. Please don’t shred more than 10 sheets at one time.
Q4: Why are there paper scraps in the bin or in the cutter when I receive the new paper shredder? Is it a used machine?
A4: Please be assured that all paper shredders purchased from us directly are brand new. In order to ensure the quality and function of the shredder, we 100% tested every machine in production, and some units might not be cleaned completely.
Q5: Why doesn’t the shredder work after plugging in?
A5: Please make sure you assemble the head and basket in correct directions. The side with LOGO of the shredder head should be aligned to the side with transparent window of the bin.

I can’t complain about a very cheap, reasonably price back-up shredder that does shred, so I’ll list the things I noticed after having it 20 minutes.The top shredder fits onto the bucket by 1 notch on top fitting into 1 thin rail on the bucket. It sits on top; it doesn’t lock. If you knock this over the top will fall right off. It is heavy but not overly so. If you had arthritis or weak hands it may be too heavy.The choppers ( see pic) aren’t protected in any way but are recessed from the direct edge you are exposed to when you remove the top. Theyre still very reachable and deadly sharp. This would not be at all safe to have around children or pets who could knock it over. It’s a bit cumbersome as I see some have handles on top to lift it up which would be safer and easier in hindsight.The instructions are some of the most polite I’ve read. The confusing part is it says, “maximum recommended daily use is 20 sheets of paper”. Why, I do not know since other reviews show much being shredded in a day.Also says if it overheats to let it sit 40 minutes to cool off. Another reviewer said she did a lot with no issue. While I have only ground 3 sheets to test things, I’m thinking if I have to pace and stop or if it overheats easily I won’t get much done.I found it pretty loud. One video posted in reviews has a piece of paper gliding into the shredder with..well…a papery sound. Another posted a loud jangle of the teeth mechanism and deep growling. This is what I have -I sort of stepped back and the cat took off like a bullet. If you don’t intend to wake up anyone in say, the next 2 rooms, you might with this.The nice part is the switch is back-lit in blue, and changes to red if it’s overheated.Shreds are small and not readable.Bucket is 4 gallons which is like a small bathroom garbage bucket. Nice for the price .

Quiet and nice looking BUT doesn’t cross-cut shred very well
Used it one day and returned it. Either was defective or description was incorrect. This does not shred at a P4 level, it’s more of a basic cross-cut shred with rather large pieces. Even brand new, the shredder left some pieces without any cross cut whatsoever- meaning just a simple line shred. I ended up returning this and buying the Aurora AU608MB, not as nice looking but MAN!…it cross cuts the pieces so small and is just as quiet- and the Aurora is definitely a p4 level secure cross cut shredder.

Works for a while
Bought this back in March and it worked pretty good. It’s not heavy duty by any means which is fine we just needed it to shred a few papers here and there. Then one day it just stopped. The motor still worked so I took it apart. To my amazement, every cog in there was metal, EXCEPT, for the main wheel which turns the shredder teeth and it was plastic. So with less than average use I would say after about 5 months it’s going to fail. I’ve attached pictures. As you can see the plastic wheel has lost a good portion of its teeth so the motor turns but not the shredder wheels. Why put 4 metals metal cogs and one plastic one? Why put one metal cog in there to turn the plastic wheel? Seems purposeful to me but that’s just my opinion. Metal grinding against plastic is not built for longevity! If this issue would be fixed I would say this shredder would last a very long time! I gave it 3 stars because when it did work it worked well!

Great paper shedder
Found a reasonably priced shredder. I shredded 7 bags of paper yesterday once I received it. Found that the paper was cut into very small pieces. The noise level was normal. I was able to shred continuously for 3 bags of shredding before I had to wait until it cooled down. Very reasonable. I definitely noted that I would not try to push 10 sheets at a time. You could tell it was a struggle. Very easy to use and understand the directions. The top shredder is a bit heavy. Would like the basket part to be a bit larger. Shouldn’t be a problem for day to day shreddding

Not as durable. Limited functionality.
This unit is very nice but is not a long-term option for a lot of work. I had about a box of documents that needed to be shredded. It worked wonderfully initially. I have had it less than 2 weeks and it overheats within minutes. It then requires that one wait 40 minutes before it will allow itself to turn back on. So, the work around is to do a small number of documents (no more than about 5 sheets at a time) in segments of about 5 minutes. Otherwise, it will overheat quickly. It does get the job done if you have a small amount to do. This is not for a large amount of shredding if needed.

It’s very good!
Yesterday I started using it with a lot of email papers that I had accumulated, it took me more than 5 minutes to destroy all the papers because I read them to see if they were very important or not, this means that for each paper I destroyed I made a small pause and went back and destroyed. It did not overheat because I kept it on automatic (every time I destroyed a paper it turned off by itself) and it turned on when I inserted a new paper. I feel that it is the best way to have the machine in automatic mode while you work. My doubt at the moment is if I can leave it connected or should I disconnect it every time I finish using it, I always turn it off after using it.

This little unit really shreds the paper nice
The quality of this shredder for the price is pretty good. We usually use the auto mode on this. Just slide the paper in it automatically comes on shred the paper and then turns off. As far as reading anything on the confidential document your shredding, you can’t it does a great job of shredding. This little unit even does credit cards. I love how compact this little unit is and how strong it shreds the paper. The capacity of paper it holds as big as this unit is, is pretty good.

This should be listed as an 8 sheet shredder, But! Quite good and compact.
Noise is as expected, loud. Safety features are as expected, a tab with settings and no tab lock. Also has an internal safety tab making it unusable outside the bin. At $43 it’s a fair price. The 4 gal size is actually pretty nice. A target or walmart bag can fit over the top of the bin, making it easy to just flip over and empty into the bag without overflow. Maybe my favorite feature. The top is easy to remove and put aside. It has two hand openings on either side, which I like much better than the front and back. And it’s almost as good as a handle on top.It has 4 settings which is a bonus. Full forward, auto, and full reverse. Full forward is not available on all shredders and sometimes that can lead to a bad jamming issue. Resulting from the auto lever being wedged up by half shredded material and leaving you with no way to get it to work again. Besides taking a thin board and jamming down the slot until finally it clicks the auto lever back on.Full forward is a near must if you’re looking at shredders in general. But this little Bonsen has got all the needed settings and it chewed through everything I threw at it. But there were a couple thick bills that jammed it up. Still it was easy enough to reverse, pull them back out and re-shred after opening them. Frankly the jamming issue was more a fault of the small slot opening of the shredder, as its little motor wants to eat through anything. So be careful.I actually really liked the way this looks overall. The silver top and black bin is a simple clean design and looks better imo than most other shredders out there. And Its form factor being a rectangle with nice rounded corners is really efficient. And can be placed anywhere if saving space is a need. As is not the case with many other shredders. If you’re looking for a solid 8 page shredder, this is a really good bang for your buck at around $43.

Super strong and cuts well
Very happy with this shredder. I had an older Amazon basic that was supposed to do 12 pages but it would never work well in spite of oiling after about every 30 minutes of shredding. This one says it will do 10 pages but it’s much better than the prior Amazon basic 12 page model. What I like is the overheating light on the top of this device and how quickly and smoothly it shreds. I never overfed either device so both should have worked as designed. My parents kept every bill, statement, receipt or anything they thought they might need later and they did this since 2008. Now 16 years later we have bags full of old documents we don’t need. They were concerned about giving them to someone else to shred so I took these documents home and started shredding. The prior Amazon device crapped out after about the 2nd batch running for about 15 minutes. Motor would run but the gears were stripped. Trashed that device and bought this one and began the process of shredding about six 39 gallon trash bags. This device worked great by shredding for about 20-30 minutes at a time (the device never overheated) and then oiling after about each 30 minute segment. After a few days all these documents were shredded and this device is still working perfectly. Very glad I got this one and the price was right.

Product decent
I feel as the product was worth its money, it struggled to shred 1 card it does jam if u do like 8 papers at once. Auto Shuts off perfect, need more space!!!! And overall decent but need bigger!

Quality
I love this shredder, very nice looking. It has a cherry blue light under the on off slide that make it look a notch above the rest. During use you can hear the smooth power it has. I have no doubt it will out last lesser shredders.

Very strong shredder
It is heavier than I expected. That is a good thing. It chopped thru plastic credit cards like they were paper and did it very quickly. I am impressed so far. Recommend based on my usage so far.

Overheats Quickly
The shredder works great, but unfortunately it overheats in less than 10 minutes of continuous use and automatically shuts off.You have to wait about 40 minutes before it cools down and be able to start shredding again. Very inconvenient.

Shreds most everything but bin is small
I wasn’t sure this was the shredder for me after reading the product manual which tells you all the things that should NOT go in the shredder. However, I’m not a rule follower so I’ve put all my usual items for shredding in it with no problem. Shreds 4 pieces of paper without an issue. My only problem is the bin fills up too quickly. A larger unit would solve this problem. If you don’t shred slot of paper, this would be ideal for you.

Is the new boss of the home office.
This new privacy manager has our competition wild. No shifting through our trash to get trade secrets anymore after Mr.Shredder signed on. Can do several pages at a time and even cuts up our old credit cards (with the chip) like he hasn’t had breakfast.The world is a safer place with this guy.Recommend hiring.

Small Basket & a little on the loud side
I bought this to replace one that my husband broke because he put metal lined credit cards in it after I told him the manual said not to put those types of credit cards in it.I liked my old one so much better, but I could no longer find it, & I only bought it in November.I can handle the extra noise, but I really miss that bigger basket that my previous one had.

Smaller capacity than expected works well.
Our previous brand was larger and not nearly as efficient as this new, smaller one. I like that this one will fit nicely on the desk where I work so I don’t have to stoop in my chair to shred documents. The clear window feature is nice as it allows me to see when it’s getting full. Our last one did not have this and would stop in the middle of shredding papers without warning! The cross cutting feature makes it much more difficult to try and piece together!
