Incredible. Our couch and my leather portfolio never looked better

Our leather couch had minor scratches from our cat jumping up to look out the window and they have completely disappeared. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures before and after of the couch – but I did of my leather portfolio. This was a gift from my father 40+ years ago and it has taken a beating in a million meetings. Now it looks less like it was run over by a car. Still obviously loved, but back to it’s lovely deep brown color. Amazing product, easy to use. Highly recommended.

    Fabulous Product!

I have several pieces of leather furniture and high end handbags. This is the best product I’ve used to keep the leather supple and fresh.Recommend putting product on the cloth first (like lathering a washcloth with soap). Use the cleaner first, wait a few minutes, then use this. Finish with a soft-bristle brush made for buffing leather. SO worth the time to do!

    Worked great on leather couches

Product worked great on my two leather couches. After years of wear the leather was looking dry and weathered on a few of the high use seating areas. After using this product the dry leather looked refreshed and back to the same quality as the rest of the couch. I used the product as directed, starting with the cleaner first. Then with a non lint cloth applying a light coat over the entire couch. It look some rubbing to get it all uniformly coated, but well worth it based on the outcome.

My convertible, black leather interior, Texas summer heat.

My car’s black leather seats were in need of attention. It’s currently 105 degrees, so the conditioner was perfectly spreadable, and probably the best on the market during these conditions.I would expect this product would be harder to work with in temps below 70 degrees. I would not use this in the winter for fear my seats would stay sticky. But for my convertible, this is the best conditioner for my needs. It’s aptly named honey, and if you pour it on thick, it takes some time to soak it. I left it overnight (90 degree nights), and most had absorbed with very little to wipe off. So I applied a second coat to make sure the leather had enough conditioner. Wiped down the excess after second night of soaking in. Beautiful results. With the size of the bottle, I expect to have a years worth of maintenance. Worth the money!

Excellent to use with the Leather Honey Cleaner.

I used the Cleaner and Conditioner to treat a 50+ year old Russian military holster. The holster was dry and stiff but not cracked or damaged. After cleaning I treated until the leather became supple enough to insert object. The leather is darker [originally pigskin] but now expands and is better than it was 50+ years ago.Product a little expensive but will last much longer for other leather and treat far better than ANY other cleaner or conditioner.

Hands down the best leather conditioner and shine I’ve ever used

This is a 10 year old vehicle. Can you spot the before picture?A little does go a long way. This is the second time I’ve used Leather Honey on my car.The before picture was with a different gloss product that quickly faded and did not penetrate the surface like this.It even greatly lessened fine wearing in the leather. It’s supple and not greasy.Highly recommended!

Restores like new! Had I only known it was this easy!

Had I only known it was this easy! The before picture is on the left, the after on the right. This chair is 24 years old and has never had any leather care products applied to it. I thought this was going to be a more difficult project trying to keep everything uniform, but this Leather Honey works G-R-E-A-T! Initially it really soaked in making the leather dark, but dried back to the almost original chocolate brown. It’s still a little lighter than original, as compared to some areas that never get any light/sun. But now this chair is soft again, not dry and I cannot recommend this product enough. My only regret is that I did not use this sooner and keep up with the care of this beautiful leather chair. Oh, BTW, I even used it on the wooden legs and they look like new again too (they took 24 hrs to dry, but again TOTALLY worth the wait!) one other data point, I did use 1 1/2 bottles to complete this chair.

Purchased this leather protector awhile back and I now know what all of the hype is about! This stuff is amazing and placing another order immediately after I post this review. The only downside I can find is the cost.

I used this on leather chairs and it did a nice job. I will use it more going forward. A little does seem to go a long way. it is thicker than others, which I like. You can apply with a cloth but I like to apply with my hands. It seem to go a bit further.

    Safe and effective

I have tried lots and lots of products. Neatsfoot, mink, lanolin, synthetics. They all have benefits and drawbacks. This product is easy to apply penetrates well and doesn’t have the same harmful potential as others. I used this product (along with a few others) to save my great grandfather’s saddle. It had been poorly stored, it was dry and fragile. I spent several days carefully bringing the leather back to life and while it may or may not be safe to use as a saddle it is guaranteed to survive for years to come with no more degradation.

Hard to apply, took a week to dry, but saved my couch!

UPDATE: 5/26/2022 — It has now been a few weeks since I applied the conditioner. The slight sticky feeling that was still on the couch sofa is gone now. It has either soaked in or evaporated, etc. The sofa feels just like when I got it, but now I know it is not dry and going to crack worse. No new cracking has showed up on the sofa couch anywhere. The parts I repaired using the repair kit I bought on Amazon has also held up well. The areas where there were cracks are still sealed, but the repair kit filler has stretched I think. So it appears more visible that I patched them, but not unless you really look at it. However, I do think that the conditioner has helped to stop any new cracks from developing. All in all I wish I had put this on my sofa couch before it started to crack! I do think this would have prevented any cracks from forming. I may have put too much on when I put it on, but after running the fans on it and wiping it down many times and now a few weeks later, the couch looks great and has no sticky feeling to it at all anymore. I know this may not be ideal to have a couch such you can not sit on it for a while, but what I did was put a huge blanket over it until it was fully dried. That allowed us to use it without any problems and if we had not treated the sofa, I am sure by now there would be many more cracks in the sofa.–The first photo showing the entire sofa is from about a month ago when I bought a used faux leather sofa couch.About a month later the right side top head rest began to crack.I am guessing the couch is older than I thought and it was dry and the oils from hair against it after sitting and using the couch a few times for a few hours watching TV began to break down the sofa leather.I first used the Honey Cleaner on it, but it did not do much. I then used this Honey Leather Conditioner, but it soaked into the leather fast. It was hard to spread, I eventually put on disposable plastic gloves and rubbed the leather honey all over the couch surfaces that are used.I was having trouble getting it to spread, so likely used more than you are supposed to, but I did not want the cracking to spread and ruin the couch. The couch I had before this had this kind of cracking spread all over it and I had to pay to have it taken to the trash. You can see the cracks in the leather head rest of the couch in the 2nd photo. Those cracks did not come out from the honey leather conditioner. What I did to get the cracks fixed was use the COCONIX Brown Leather and Vinyl Repair Kit here on Amazon, but after I used the Honey Leather conditioner on it all to restore the health of the faux leather. I had to wipe down the couch a few times the first 24 hours. First I used paper towels and tossed them. Then a old towel and then a wet old towel and wiped more off. Then I ran a big fan against the couch 24/7 for about 4 days and then wiped it down again with a towel. I put old knit blankets over the couch for a week or so until the honey leather had completely soaked in. Even still if I rub my fingers on the couch they will pick up some of the substance, as my fingers I have not rubbed against it will be smooth, and the ones I do rub against it are a little sticky. The stickiness is getting less and less and I am sure in a few weeks it will be back to how it was. It is not a very noticeable stickiness now. After this I think I may just wiped it down with the Honey leather cleaner every few months.I do think I needed to use this honey leather conditioner though to save the leather, as it was cracking pretty bad in just a month of having it after I bought it used and it had no cracks when I bought it used. All in all I am happy with this. I likely used way more than is recommended. If you are wondering how this works on fake leather couches, it does seem to work, but does not absorb I think as fast as it does in real leather. It may be that my fake leather couch has been treated as well, which is why it did not soak in as fast.

Amazing for Wilson GST football prep

I wanted to find a leather conditioner when prepping some Wilson GST Leather footballs prior to the season. I decided to use Leather Honey after removing the original dye from the footballs. I coated the footballs completely and let it sit for 24hrs. It was super easy to apply, just make sure it’s on a stand so it doesn’t fall over, I used a gloved hand and just worked it into each of the football’s panels, and avoided the stripes and laces. I conditioned each football twice, and the leather was super soft afterwards! It wasn’t super sticky after it soaked in, and i did a quick wipe with a microfiber towel afterwards– It was the perfect surface prep prior to mudding. I would recommend this for other coaches that want to prep their game balls. Thanks for making a great leather conditioner.

Made my old car seats look great!

I used this on a 17 year old Buick. It is in pretty good shape, we don’t use it that much with about 100 thousand miles. Anyway, the newer cars get the garage and this one is mainly in the driveway, so it gets a lot of sun (well, my area doesn’t seem to get too much warm weather!) The way it is facing it really only gets morning sun but I worried that it would really take a toll on the leather seats. They aren’t cracked or faded, but are looking a little creased in places. I cleaned them really well first with a detergent. I used Fantastic spray because it seems to be the best cleaner I have used to get off any oily films (like on my ceramic fireplace surround, on stoves, etc. It was probably a little harsher than many cleaners, but I don’t think these seats have been really cleaned in many years. To me, leather is like skin. If I would use it on my skin, I don’t fear it with leather. I have used saddle soaps and I used to clean my leather sofa with Dove bar soap. It worked super well, but I needed more aggressive cleaning here. I think Dawn dish soap would also work, but I wanted less water since I wanted to condition soon after cleaning and not wait a day or so after the soap and water. So, seats are clean and ready. I noticed that the headrests and the sides and backs of the front seats looked like a different texture. I wondered if they were not genuine leather, actually being some sort of vinyl or some sort of “bonded” leather.Bonded leather is really ground up bits of leather and other plastics, then the mixture is pressed to a backing and then sealed with something. I mean technically there is some leather ingredients, but if you ever had an office chair where the “leather” peeled off in bits, you know it isn’t really like leather. Still, if you are gentle with it and don’t expect it to be like split leather or hide, then it is fine.Anyway, I did not use this product on those areas. I kept it to the places where the leather felt like supple and had the deeper markings of the skin. I used

    303 Protectant

on the vinyl and other plastics in the car. I got the 8oz bottle, because I wasn’t sure I would like it. The bottle was sealed with a big piece of tape (I guess to prevent the product from leaking) except when I tried to peel it off, it ripped the entire front label off of the bottle! Luckily I had peel the back more carefully, so I still had the directions. It is simple though, wipe on , wipe off…so I am sure I could have figured it out.It is clear in color and came out of the bottle in a viscous fashion like corn syrup or glycerin. Thick and sticky. (that was my nickname in high school! ha ha!! just kidding!)) It wasn’t easy to put on. Initially, I poured some on my microfiber cloth and tried to rub it into my seat. Well, it like got stuck. Not like glue, but you really had to pull to move the product around. The next swipe, I poured it on my cloth and sort of dotted the product around a larger area. Then rubbed it in to make an even coating. By dotting it around, I wasn’t trying to smear a puddle of the stuff, but move smaller dabs of it. That worked much better. After you sort of have it moved to a generally even coating, it is easier to rub the whole area again to get it to be like a film over the whole thing. Then you are supposed to let it sit for up to a day and wipe off the excess. The next day, I was a little nervous that I would go out there and the product would be like sticky paint. It looked shiny-ish like nothing had penetrated at all. I envisioned my rag skipping and dragging over the stuff to remove the excess and I was ready to give my hands and arms a real workout to buff this stuff off. To my happy surprise, I didn’t have much of any excess at all! There was a corner or two where I didn’t get it spread as thinly, where I could feel my rag catch, but it was only about a square inch at at time. It was no longer sticky. The leather was really nice and shiny and I really still thought it was the leftover product. Maybe it changed to like a greasy/oily residue. But I kept trying to wipe it off as I didn’t want it on our clothes. But nothing on my rag. I even ran my hand over it with pretty good pressure to see if my hand was shiny afterwards, but it was not.I am really happy with the way the seats came out. I am hoping that the conditioning treatment will help me keep the seats cleaner now as they are more smooth and dirt will be easier to remove (with a just a damp microfiber or super mild soap.) Next time I might want to do this on a warmer day (it was in the 50s in the shade when I did it) to see if the warmer product would be easier to spread. I see that others have warmed their bottles, but I was into a big entire detailing project with carpet extractions and steaming and everything and just didn’t feel like stopping to warm it when I was finally at this step. I did this last because I didn’t want to be crawling all over the car to clean window and stuff after I applied it.Sorry for the long review, but I try to tell everyone my whole experience with using the product. My recommendations are: 1. First, clean your stuff first as much as you can. You don’t want to seal in dirt, I wasn’t insane with this step, just clean it. 2. Possibly warm the bottle in warm water or sun. I didn’t do this and it was fine. 3. Dot it around to make it easier to get an even coat. I made mine thin, like a film, not a coating. Sort of like putting lotion on your skin. You don’t paint it on, you put a film on. It will still feel sticky if you put your finger on it though. 4. Then wipe the next day. I am sure the absorption rate varies based on how dry your leather is, the warmth in the room, etc. I did not need additional coats. Maybe for something very dry, you may. I wouldn’t try a heavy single coat, you are just gonna waste it if you are wiping off goo. If it still isn’t nice, try another coat and see if it will absorb. If not you may have to wait a few weeks for it to penetrate more deeply.

    Indeed, just like honey.

Easy to apply. No drips or runs as the product does have the consistency of honey. Even better; the leather drinks it up. I took a sad pair of boots literally solid from water, and made them pliable once again with this product. AND, even though I had to use half a dozen applications to accomplish this, it required a very small amount of product to achieve. I’m quite impressed with this.

Great Product – This Stuff Revived My Sofa & Loveseat

We have some 25 year old furniture whose leather looked very dry and dull. I have tried other leather conditioners in the past, but within a few hours of application the leather went back to looking like it had before the application. This product is different – two weeks after applying it, the furniture still looks like brand new. The leather is supple, the shine is back, and it feels wonderful. That said, I have to agree with other reviewers that it is somewhat difficult to apply because it is so viscous. I also had problems with the container leaking around the lid, which kind of made it hard to hold onto the bottle while applying. After applying, the leather looked wet and greasy, but started soaking in after a few hours. The next morning, there were still some wet, shiny looking places, but I followed the instructions and buffed it off with a clean microfiber cloth. The shiny spots immediately went away and the leather buffed up beautifully. The leather looked a bit darker for a few days, but the color has returned to normal.Despite of all the difficulty and elbow grease it took, I still have to give this a five star rating. The end result has been totally worth it! I highly recommend the product. I bought the 16 oz. size and still have about a third of the container full, so to me, the value for the money is certainly there.

    Great price and nice product

I needed a conditioner for a new leather bag. The conditioner sold at the leather goods store was outrageously priced. Searched Amazon and found this product. Love it! Used on old shoes and the new bag. Gave life to the old stuff and will keep the new looking fabulous.

    Amazing transformation

I am absolutely amazed at the performance of this product. It is so easy to use and does a great job cleaning my leather furniture. It is a great value for the money. It really brings out the brightness of the leather. It comes in a Bottle with a lid that assures no leakage. It makes your furniture shine for a very long time. The leather on my furniture is very soft. I am super happy with this product. When you buy a luxurious leather couch, you want to do the best thing possible to keep it nice. I feel that this product is the absolute best thing to keep your furniture soft and as pretty as the day you got it.All you have to do is get a soft cloth and spread it on your furniture. It really has no smell. It is quite thick, but spreads quite easily. It doesn’t take terribly long to dry but is sticky and shiny while drying. You cannot use your furniture until its dry. The wait is so worth the finished product. I put this on auto ship because I love it so much. I have tried so many different products that only last for a day or so. This product keeps your furniture looking new for quite a long time. A bottle of this goes a very long way.Take my word for it, If you have leather furniture, you NEED this.

    Super hydrating leather conditioner

I used this in the middle of a Texas summer, so it poured out very easily. I used a microfiber rag to apply it, but next time I’ll use a mitt similar to what women use for applying tanning foam. A little of this conditioner goes a long way. I had some pretty dry car leather (a 10 year old Lexus), and overnight a majority of the conditioner absorbed in. I wiped down the car with a clean rag the next morning to get off the excess. If you apply too much of this, it will feel tacky/sticky. But once you wipe your vehicle down, it leaves it feeling smooth and supply – not quite brand new – but pretty close. I will definitely purchase this again. We have a leather couch that I’m going to apply this to – I’ve read other reviews about the quality results – which don’t surprise me. This is a good conditioner if you need some heavy duty conditioning.

    Excellent product

I purchased a white leather couch from Home Goods. As you can imagine, it was pretty dirty. This leather cleaner was very easy to apply and left the couch looking sparkling clean. There was not a mark left on it! I then applied the conditioner, let it sit overnight and wiped up the little that was remaining.I love these products and appreciate the fact that they have no lingering scent.

    Leather Honey

Used this on my 5 year old Silverado leather seats. I have never used any type of conditioner before. This made my seats feel noticeably softer and look new without being tacky, oily or with residual greasy feeling. Smooth to the touch. Very pleased so far. Also used it on my leather steering wheel. Great results!

    Wow!

I’ve bought numerous different brands of leather conditioners for my 25 year old car seats. Nothing seems to help much. I just used this on my 30 year old toolbelt and bags and the leather turned to butter. I’m going to order more now. It is thick like honey, so it doesn’t run very much.

All these great reviews are NOT hype!

I know the seats in my wife and I’s cars have likely been ignored since day 1. They’re not abused and we don’t have children, but the Mercedes is 16 years old, the Lexus 9. We plan on keeping both until we cannot stand looking at them any longer, and interior condition is a HUGE part of making it feel ‘right’. I know for a fact, the second owner of the Mercedes, I’m #3, was both a slob and lazy about upkeep. I’ve wiped the Lexus’s interior down a couple of times with leather ‘wipes’, but I’ve never treated them properly. If you have one, you know leather vehicle interiors are not at all inexpensive to repair/replace, so it’s in your best interest to keep them in good shape from the start rather than trying to save them as they deteriorate. Before diving in, first was a test on my wallet, which I’ve carried for 4+ years in a back pocket. I have done positively nothing to as it pertains to leather care, other than I do my best to not let it get wet, i.e. drop it in the sink.Cleaning and Leather Honey…wow! Just…WOW!After a thorough cleaning with Lexol, to get the dirt out of the leather, I brushed on some Leather Honey. It has an odd feel to it…almost beeswaxy. It’s not at all oily or slippery, like it appears. The next day, with my wallet feeling as if it were new…looks are another thing, but I don’t care about look as much as feel…the cars were next.I read about people expecting Leather Honey to ‘heal’ cracks and restore color. That’s not what this is for, and it’s not touted as such a product (which would be magic if it could, ’cause cracks are physical damage). Now, had it changed my wallet’s leather from the color black to say, fuschia, I’d have an issue. This will not restore color to worn spots nor will it fix existing cracks. That’s what dyes and repair guys are for.The cars took some time, and I wish it were warmer so the Honey may be better absorbed into the leather, but I’ll tell you what, the difference in feel is amazing. The seats in my wife’s 9 year old Lexus weren’t this soft when the car was two years old! Now, be aware, this isn’t a simple brush-on, wipe-off kinda thing. You’ve *gotta* follow directions, and I think it’s better to apply too little rather than too much, as you can’t really recover excess. If using a foam sponge as an applicator, you can squeeze excess out, however.Tips: USE A LINT-FREE CLOTH! Heed the advice on the bottle! I thought the rag I was using wouldn’t leave lint, but I’ll be picking fuzz off the passenger’s seat in my car for the next week. Applying with a foam sponge is perfect. Foam paintbrushes aren’t sturdy enough, but the material is just right. I think removing with heavy-duty paper towels may be the way to go, too.Get the 16 ounce bottle. It has no expiration date, and after you use it on a couple of items, you’ll be surprised how many leather goods you have which you want to bring back to feeling new. I’m eyeballing our large L-shaped sofa, and while it’ll be quite a bit of work, it’ll be worth it.Make certain you remove the excess a couple of times. I was tired and in a rush when I wiped down the 16 year old seats in my car, and I can see/feel I didn’t remove all of the excess. It takes some arm strength, ’cause this stuff is quite viscous. My seats have a little bit of residue, but it’s not oily, like I stated above, it’s almost like wax. This is 100% my error. I should have taken more time. The good, no GREAT, thing is, a light leftover residue doesn’t appear to stain clothes.I parked my car in the sun, today, thinking maybe heat may help a bit of the excess soak into the leather. We’ll see. In fact, I’ll go check, now…Nope, sunlight/heat (at least a nice late-February day in north Texas) doesn’t help.Let it soak in overnight, if possible. You can’t rush it. Even with 16 year old car seats which have been in Texas their entire lives, a second coat is unnecessary. I might put a second on my wallet’s exterior, just to see if there’s a noticeable difference. One other VERY important thing to remember. If you like ‘slippery’ leather, DO NOT USE THIS. It makes leather almost a bit ‘tacky’. At least initially. After a few days of contact with clothes/skin, it feels pretty normal, but not dried-out and polished.

    Don’t Know

I can’t give it a 5 star rating. 3 stars is unfair. I have no idea of what this stuff is. Appears to be a mineral oil. They say it is not silicone or animal, but what? It soaks into fine furniture leather fast. One bottle is barely enough for one sofa. Maybe two bottles can give a sofa a proper coating. It does darken the leather somewhat, but lightens up in a few hours. Looks fine. A down side is that a bottle is not cheap.

Used on my leather jacket, belt bottle holder, and plague doctor mask. No strong smell, nice and shiny, doesn’t feel greasy. A little goes a long way, with that in mind this bottle is large enough to last many years for me. No leakage, good value for money.

WOW! Saved my stained & sun damaged couches.

I have some 20 ish year old high end leather couches that were so faded I figured they were ready for the dump. They are the most comfortable, soft leather couches I’ve ever owned so I decided it was worth a shot to try conditioning them with oil. I’d tried a different cream style brand years ago but it felt like a waste of time and money. My couch and chair sucked up a 32 ounce bottle and I was initially worried they would be greasy forever but a day later they look and feel soft and buttery again, no residue. I had to do 2 coats (I did them 24 hours apart) as the first looked streaky but my couches were so dry it made sense. I’m now a believer in leather conditioner! My couches are back to the color they were over a decade ago.

    Amazing product!

I couldn’t be happier with a product! So, we bought a large loveseat at a resale shop. We knew it had good bones and thought we could possibly color or reconditioned the leather. So I decided to recondition it first with the option to dye it at a later date. After doing research, I found leather honey. I can’t believe the transition this love seat has made!!! Leather honey is amazing!P.S. we also found out that a loveseat we paid $110 for is marketed at $7,500! So leather honey is worth it!

    Best leather conditioner

For those of us who’ve been blessed with leather furniture, one must keep it pliable.Don’t wait for the leather to be sandpaper or ripping with guests complaining.Leather is a luxury and long term fabric that needs to be washed and conditioned once in a while. If you have kids a while is much sooner.Just purchase the bigger bottle as soon you will use it.
