Cheaper than cheap
It’s just paper thin sheet metal and 4 tiny tack welds to hold it together, there are NO welded corners on the lid so the lid flanges get bent easily just by opening the box for normal use. The only “fireproofing” is a piece of styrofoam sandwiches between 2 sheets of 18 gauge sheet metal, it’s not going to protect your items from any meaningful fire.My profession is metal working and I can confidently say this product is cheap beyond cheap and has no business being sold for over $10

Usable size is actually 7 1/4″ by 11 5/8″, not advertised size
While sturdy and well made, the compartment size is not the advertised size and is too small for US letter sized papers and bindings made from them. The exterior size of the lid is the advertised size of 8 1/2″ by 12 3/4″. I bought this to hold important family documents, which need to be bent in order to fit. This also reduces usable depth to 1″. I give it an overall rating of 1, since its advertised size is not the usable size. Put exterior and interior sizes if necessary.

The box itself is fine, except it doesn’t fit a standard size piece of paper, which is pretty disappointing considering the reason most people would purchase the box. To get my birth certificate in there, the edges of the paper are curled up.

Function
When I first received this I could not get it open with the key. After looking at it one of the notches in the lock was missing preventing me to open it and use it properly. After replacing the lock it works as it should now. Besides receiving it and it not working and having to fix it, I have no other complaints.

I like this box, but with that the inside dimensions had been part of the description instead of the outside dimensions. My bad for not reading the small print. This safe will not fit a standard 8.5×11 piece of paper. That being said, it’s a good safe…bit enough for what I need!

Both keys work, the box open and closes. When it is locked it will not open at all. Has nice handle on side to carry it. Do be careful with it because it has little weight to it. Like a dumb bell type weight so a desk, counter, or a shelf would be safe to have it stored.
