Coming from name brand, I’m used to getting significant decongestion within 10 minutes or so. This amazon brand product does achieve the same degree of clearing but it takes maybe 30 minutes to do so. The spray pattern is unideal and closer to a stream.

How do I dose this?
Ummm… Due to the nature of the bottle, how do I know how much I’ve taken? It just shoots up and out! Did I just take ten doses or one? Wtf man…. There’s no misting pump!Idk how well the actual drug works from this manufacturer, since idk if I used a lot or a little…So now I’m refilling my old afrin bottle with the contents of this Amazon basics product…I’d say this is a dangerous flaw. This isn’t a drug one needs a lot of, it’s a short term thing, it NEEDS to be dosed properly!This is bad.Watch this review get buried…

Clears Sinuses Fast and Lasts 12 Hours
This is a bargain compared to the name brand, and it works just as well but without the nasty aftertaste. I don’t know why some reviewers say that the bottle is difficult to use, or that it’s impossible to accurately dose. Tip it upside down then upright, put the tip into your nostril while covering the other and squeeze while you snort as hard as you can, works every time.

at first I thought the only thing coming out was air but you have to press it hard and fast to get the mist to spray. for best results, do this ONCE for each side, wait about 5-10 minutes so the passages open up a bit more then do it again so it goes up further into ur passages. this is way more effective than OTC decongestant pills

Didn’t work well for me
My nose get clogged most evenings making sleep difficult and finding a nasal spray that works throughout the night has been challenging. I used this one for the first time last night, and although it did help me stay mostly clear all night, I had to use it three times on each side before it opened me up. Most sprays I have used work within a few minutes but this one took about half an hour and three attempts before working. I probably won’t purchase this again.

NOT as good as Afrin
I mean I wasn’t expecting this stuff to be AS good as Afrin, but it’s not even half as good. Usually, one spray each nostril of Afrin and I’m good for at least 6 hours or more. Not this stuff. Take 2-3 spray each nostril and lasts maybe 1-2 hours.Caveat Emptor.

EXCELLENT REPLACEMENT FOR PRICIER AFRIN SPRAY
I am allergic to cats…and I have 6 of them. I’ve used Afrin for years. Yes, there’s the “rebound” effect which essentially leaves me addicted to a nasal decongestant. But *not* using one also leaves me nasally congested (is that a term?). I was afraid that my habit of using it 3 or 4 times a day would actually cause damage to my sinuses and nose, so I consulted an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist, who assured me that there was no problem with long-term usage.My preferred delivery system is a pump spray/mist, but it is expensive to get it in that format. So I purchased *empty* pump spray bottles which I fill with the less expensive, larger bottles of nasal spray. The reusable pump bottles are easy to clean.Still, the traditional Afrin spray is expensive. My daughter suggested I try the Amazon Basic version, which is much cheaper. It works just as well. I can barely tell the difference, just that it smells/tastes different from the Afrin. Not better or worse, just different. As soon as I realized how well it works, I signed up for the subscription delivery. As long as subscriptions aren’t “out of stock” (a problem I sometimes encounter with subscriptions), I’ll never have to buy full-price Afrin again. Yay!

Really terrible delivery mechanism compared to Afrin
You spray the mist by squeezing the bottle? This makes it hard (impossible?) to have consistent dosages. If I had known this, I would not have purchased. Gotta be careful with Afrin dosage. Won’t purchase again, unfortunately.

A bit fiddly.
I definitely prefer the little spray bottles that the menthol version comes with (in fact, I ended up just dumping some of this into one of those and applying it that way). I also suppose that this will hit certain people less… powerfully? …than the menthol version. However, between the more-difficult bottle (you can’t just spray, you have to, like… tilt your head way back or lay down or something and let gravity help), and the more drippy sensation around the nose and down my throat after using, I definitely prefer the no-drip methol variety.Nevertheless, this does indeed clear up my congestion.

Not a spray, but a jet stream of liquid.
I saw the word spray and thought it was one of those where you push a pump and a “sprays” out the med in mist form. No. This one does not have a pump. You have to squeeze the bottle with it tilted to the side and have a stream of liquid squirting into your nostrils. I don’t know how people can control this at all. The medicine is slightly bitter and for better or worst, it does kind of work, just not very convenient. Maybe I bought the expert level application version of nasal spray?

Nasal Not-Spray
I bought this on the advice of my doctor, for nasal issues. You’re instructed to hold the bottle upright in your nostril and deliver 3 shots of mist by squeezing. That only worked the first time. As soon as there was less liquid in the bottle, nothing would produce a mist. It is not returnable, so I worked out alternate methods. Most unpleasant is to tip your head back, squirt the dose into your nostril, and quickly raise your head with tissue at the ready. It will run down your throat, and tastes vile. Or generously soak a tissue with the med, and pack it into your nostril. The med is fine, but I won’t buy again. Get the other style bottle!

Same Ingredient 1/3 the price of the name brand
The spray is the exact same ingredients as the name brand and it is 1/3 the price. There are concerns about the efficacy of the spray system in the bottle. On the first use, I flipped the bottle upside down and then sprayed right side up. A firm squeeze does the job of generating a mist. In general, this kind of spray should be used sparingly.

If you read the ingredients of nasal sprays, often they have the same ingredients Oxymetazoline hydrochloride.05%, so why pay more for brand name? This does NOT have a pump, it is a squeeze bottle which I like. Works just as good as brand name, without the high dollar price😃.
