Does the job…boils water fast!
This is a minimalist teapot, it just boils water, but it works fast, shuts-off when it boils, and is easy to use. Just plug in and hit the switch…blue light appears, it boils, blue light shuts off, and the water is ready for a cup of tea!

Awesome purchase!
This kettle is awesome! Boils water fast and looks cool with the blue lighting. I use this for tea but mainly my French press to make great coffee. I use bottled water and not tap. It doesn’t get the calcium build up and the glass stays look clean along with the bottom. Been using it for a week and looks like new with no water stains. I love the automatic shut off as I don’t have to worry about it when I hop in the shower versus babysitting a stove whistle kettle. I will definitely purchase one again as needed. I should have had one of these long ago.

Great electric kettle
I had another brand of electric kettle for so long, but it was looking worn. I have had good experiences with Amazon Basics products, so decided to give this kettle a try. Really glad I did. It works great and looks really nice sitting on my kitchen counter (much better than my other kettle). Love the blue light as it’s heating the water! And it’s easy to wipe clean, so it continues to look new. Happy with Amazon Basics.

Great electric kettle
Everything works as expected on this kettle! It boils water quickly and has a handy automatic shutoff feature to ensure it doesn’t “overboil” and spew out of the kettle. The 1 liter size is perfect and can easily fill two large mugs full of hot water. It stows easily and has a minimal footprint, which is perfect for kitchens with limited counter/storage space! I would not hesitate to purchase this product again!

Boils in about 2 minutes. Little wobbly.
Purchased this kettle based on reviews. It works well boiling cold water in about 2 minutes. I like the glass container to see the water boiling. It auto shuts off after a few seconds of boiling. My only issue is the kettle is a little wobbly on the base but not an big deal.

Great!!
Love this! Quality is great, nice to see the blue color light, since it is glass handle with care. It’s a bit heavy if you have issues with your hands or fingers. (It’snot light weight.) Didn’t have a smell ,fast to heat.

Changing my Rating!
This electric kettle has been great. I love its compact design and not using my gas range for tea every morning. So handy too when I need quick boiling water for any other purpose. I was moved to give it a low rating when it suddenly stopped working after 5 months. I tried all trouble shooting advice with no success. Luckily today, as I was making the move to get rid of it, I thought to try pressing it more firmly into its base and hit the on button. The light came on! Such a relief, I really do like it. Hoping this is helpful to anyone else that suddenly finds it not working.

Great Amazon branded product.
As titled, its from amazon and has a basic design for an electric kettle. Its made of glass and steel, it boils water and shuts off after a boil has been reached. The quality is actually really nice and has held up months after using. It’s easy to clean, but be cautious about not cleaning it regularly.

Heat
Doesn’t seem to quite boil/heat the water but it generally does the job it needs to. Very quiet because of the lack of bubbles so you have to pay attention to when it is done. On the smaller side but works for an 8 C French press. Looks nice.

Extremely easy to use, high quality
I wanted something simple. This kettle exceeded my expectations. For the price, it’s unbeatable. I’d even pay $10-20 more for it. You just have to pour water into it, place it into the base (which you’ve already plugged into an outlet), click down a “start” lever/ button. And in less than 3 minutes, your water is boiled to perfect temperature and this little thing shuts off by itself. Then you pour your boiled ester into your favorite cup and that’s it. I really can’t find a flaw in this product. Wish I had known it existed before! I already bought one for a tea-lover friend. It’s a must have!

Great little kettle!
I needed a small kettle for a small space, this does the job. Heats up fast too. It would be nice if the kettle was double-walled so the outside wouldn’t get extremely hot (of course I try to be careful not to touch the outside) and the water would stay hot longer, but could be because of its small size. Overall I’m very happy with it!

Far better than the expensive ones
We had a Cuisinart. The cap stopped working. So I bought this one. Hah, much cheaper and actually a better product. You can see the hard water stains clearly. (Disappears with vinegar soak.) True, the Cuisinart had six temperature settings but I always use boil anyway. Compare the price, and you realize Cusinart is over priced.

Great no frills little work horse.
This is a great no frills option if you just want boiling water. No temperature gauges or programs, just start and wait for it to boil. We have a fancy one in the kitchen but wanted something for the downstairs living area an this little kettle fits the bill perfectly.

Why did I wait so long?
Wow, this kettle is great! After many years of heating water in the microwave and burning my hands I finally decided to get a kettle. This one is so easy to use that I’m drinking more tea and cocoa. And it’s just as fast as the microwave! It shuts itself off as soon as the water boils so you never boil it dry. And since you leave the base on the counter it’s not heavy at all. I use RO filtered water so I’ll probably never have to clean it, but it was pretty easy to clean before it’s first use, which I recommend. For some reason the things I make with the water from this kettle just taste better than from the microwave. Chemically they’re the same, they just behave differently.

Stylish and just the right size
I had been looking for a smaller tea kettle in stainless steel for a while. This one is great–it is really pretty, boils the water in no time, has a very convenient spout (you can fully control the water when pouring). The cable is still a tad stiff and the base is thus not completely flat on the surface as the cable is worked into the base, but I expect this problem to disappear in a few days. And I bought this on Prime Day, a real steal, such a good price for the item (even if it is not on sale, it’s a great price…).

Simple and Effective Amazon Basic analog un-smart Kettle works well for seniors
I needed a replacement kettle for my elderly mother who boils a kettle of water 5-10 times/day. She had trouble with the weight of 1.5L kettles when full, had destroyed the complicated/difficult opening button for the filling lid on others, she could not handle a fancy digital kettle and several expensive kettles died under her heavy daily usage. I bought one of these for her 3 years ago and it is still working well. The simplicity of the vertical slim design with an obvious button to open the lid for the fill, an obvious button to turn it on and the small 1L capacity (reasonable weight when full) were perfect for her. I have bought this kettle for another relative who also loves it and I just bought another one for myself as a backup kettle when the kettle in my home office (or my mother’s current kettle) dies. Simple, effective, fast boiling and auto shut for those who like real boiled water for tea or pour-over coffee.

Fast, Fast, Fast!
I’ve now owned this Amazon Kettle for 9 months. It is fantastic! Heats water very quickly. Compared to my built-in hot water dispenser, it provides boiling water (212 degrees) vs 185 from my built-in. Very important when it comes to French Press coffee and teas. The unit is clean, zero signs of rust, easy to fill and use, built well, and way more economical and energy efficient than the built-in dispenser I have, but don’t use anymore. A total no-brainer to use!

heats fast but exterior gets very hot too
This is a great little pot – heats quickly and it’s so convenient to lift off the base & not have to worry about dealing with an attached plug. The exterior does get HOT though, so you need to be careful to not have it near anyone that might hurt themselves (children/elderly) and keep it away from anything plastic. If you’re reasonably careful, it’s just a fine little kettle. I love the small size and simple style.

HOLY CRAP
What in blazes did we do for tea before this thing came along? What have we been thinking? Love, love, love this thing! It’s super fast, it’s safe, it’s easy to take on and off the stand that heats it. It’s clear and has a nice aesthetic for being on the counter top, love the pretty blue light that comes on! Easy to open.. You can pour it without even opening it. Don’t even need to clean since it’s just water we’re boiling. So worth the price and best thing I’ve bought all year. Idk if it’s the Brits we need to thank for this, but if so, thank you, cousins!!!

Fantastic Electric Kettle!
I’m really impressed with the Amazon Basics Electric Kettle! It heats water quickly and efficiently, making it perfect for my morning coffee and tea. The 1.8-quart capacity is just right for my needs, and I love the sleek glass and steel design. The auto shut-off and boil-dry protection features give me peace of mind, knowing it’s safe to use. It’s also BPA-free, which is a huge plus for me. Overall, this kettle offers great performance at an excellent price. Highly recommend!

Excellent kettle
This is a great water heater kettle. I’ve been using it every day for my pour over coffee for a few months now. It doesn’t take up much space on the countertop. It heats water quickly. It has a nice modern look to it with the stainless edges and clear carafe. Much more eco friendly than k cups and just as quick and convenient. Highly recommend.

Nice Quality Kettle
This review is for Amazon Basics Electric Glass and Steel Hot Tea Water Kettle, 1.7-Liter, Black and Silver. I got this to replace a stainless steel Ascot electric kettle which worked wonderfully for about 3 years and before that an Ovente cordless glass kettle which also worked for 3 years. I know it was 3 years because I am diligent with recording all my purchases and they all seem to die by the 3 year mark. I’m not sure if this is planned obsolescence but this has been my personal experience. I thought about getting another Ascot again but it’s expensive and if I’m only going to get 3 years out of it, why spend any more than what I have to for an electric kettle? Don’t do what I did thinking a more expensive one will last any longer! I went with this one because my parents have it so I know it works and it works well for them. Why not go with something I know works? I like it a lot and it boils water pretty fast. I like electric kettles for the convenience of being able to boil water and walk away knowing it would turn off once ready. Gone are the days of waiting patiently for the whistling of the kettle so that I can shut off the stove! Who has time anymore? I only use filtered water to make my coffee and tea and I normally check the temperature of the water before I use it depending on whether I’m making tea or coffee. Some things that I’ve observed, and others have pointed out, is that the water boils at 7 minutes and 30 seconds for me with 1.7L (Max) of filtered Brita water (whether refrigerated or room temperature). Obviously, the less water, the quicker the kettle comes to a boil (3 minutes for 1.0L). The kettle will automatically shut off when it hits about 210-212°F (based on the 3-4 readings that I’ve taken). This is a little bit too hot for my coffee and tea so I usually wait a bit for it to cool down to between 195-205°F for coffee and between 160-180°F for my tea. There are kettles out there where one can set the desired temperatures, but for the price and quality of this kettle I think it’s working out fine for me. I like the wide opening because it’s easy to fill and also easy to stick my hands inside to clean with a sponge. I couldn’t do this with my last kettle and that was so annoying! Pro Tip: In my experience, if the kettle doesn’t turn on or seems dead, descaling the pot will often restore it back to normal. This was the case with my Ascot where once I descaled it, it worked again for several more months. I had to do this 3-4 times during those 3 years before it died completely. Also, if it doesn’t turn on after cleaning, try spinning the kettle to different contact points on the base. This too was the case with my old kettles. I had to slowly spin the kettle on the base to get it to light up and run. Eventually this didn’t work either so here I am once again looking for a new kettle! Overall, I’m pleased with this Amazon Basics kettle. I like the size, quality, design, features, and boil speed. I would still recommend it and I give it a 5.0/5.0. – 06/15/2024.

Luv it!
I use this several times a day. Luv that it automatically shuts off. It retains heat for a hard minute.

Works great and fast
This pot worms water so fast. I really like it The only thing I don’t like is the strainer comes out way too much but I really don’t need the strainer. I mainly use this for my hummingbird water. I would buy it again. It’s pretty lightweight easy to use.

Love It!
This little pot heats water very quickly – exactly what I needed. The only downside is the pop-up lid only opens part way, making it difficult to fill from my wide mouth tap. I’m buying a 2nd on for my travel trailer.

Very nice 1.0 L
This is about the fourth electric kettle we have purchased. This one is perfect for road trips. Heats up promptly. Most nice hotels have a kettle, but my advice is never use them. A friend is an airline pilot who spends a good part of his life in hotels. He told me why you never use a room kettle. Certain guests will use them to clean their personal things. Wish I never heard that story! Another reason to bring your own!

Good kettle
This kettle overall is a quality product. The filled kettle boils water in 6 minutes. The LED indicator is bright in daylight, shuts off when the kettle reaches boiling. There is a safety keeping the lid closed while heating. The only thing I don’t care for is the cord wrap, I think the base doesn’t allow enough height to easily wrap the cord.I would absolutely buy again.

Boiling Water Almost Instantly
This boils water unbelievably fast, and we retired our old kettle to the cupboard immediately after trying it out. It gets water to a roaring boil faster than you’d believe and then shuts off, which is a great safety feature.

Easy to use
Purchased this for my mom. Needed something small and easy to use for her as she is an older person. And she loves it to make her instant coffee and tea. Definitely recommend.

so far, I ike it
So far, I like it. the size and speed of boiling is good. I do wish I had bought something that had a spout that closed to keep dust or anything out when preparing water for the next morning.
