Heavy duty, Dispenses smoothly, Invisible
I was very hesitant to purchase this packaging tape. I normally purchase the Duck brand. But I needed tape and this shipped the same day. Now I found my new packaging tape 😍 For someone who us self employed and uses a ton of tape, this is affordable and high quality. I didn’t even put it in a dispenser and it goes on soooooo smoothly. I almost want to use more tape to hear the relaxing 😌 sounds it makes when being applied. It’s so tough! I’m not even kidding you! Like Ft Knox tough. It felt like overkill on my packages. I like how it’s see through. A truly invisible tape. 🫥 You won’t regret buying this tape and your pocket book will thank you 🙏

Sticks well to boxes, but has the most horrible smell. I’m not easily bothered by bad odors, but it’s pretty bad. If you are easily bothered by foul odors, you should strongly consider whether or not to buy this product.

Better than the brand name tape!
I am taking a break from my packing to leave this review! I’ve bought a pack of Scotch heavy duty packing tape from Costco for more than twice the price of this. And this Amazon brand tape feels better made, thicker and has better adhesion than the other brand. This is definitely heavy duty stuff. Perfect for packing for moving/shipping etc. I will be returning the 2nd pick of Scotch tape from Costco!

I finally got around to trying this tape…. (updated)
I ordered this a few weeks ago but I wasn’t out of tape yet.. Finally ran out and put a roll of this stuff on my tape gun and am very satisfied. We normally purchase our packing tape at Walmart or Home Depot.. compared to the stuff we normally buy, this tape is thicker.. Adhesion is the same as far as I can tell, but it is definitely thicker. I was using it at 60 degreesF so I can’t comment on its performance under really cold temperatures but our other tape didn’t do well below 30 degreesF.. didn’t want to stick right..As for the size of the roll, this tape is designed to fit professional packing tape guns, not the cute little consumer tape roll holders. If you don’t own a tape gun, I suggest you buy one.The price of this tape is cheaper than anywhere else.. You can purchase a higher quality tape like a 3M product, but you’re going to pay a lot more for it, and the small benefits do not remotely justify the cost.This tape is an excellent value.. best value I’ve gotten so far and we go through 10 to 30 rolls a year, sometimes more.UPDATE: I have now had a chance to test this tape in cold(ish) air. Packing a box in the cold garage at 31 degreesF, I found this tape to adhere quite well.. better than my Home Depot and Sam’s club tape actually. Not magically better, but enough to notice.. +1 for Amazon Basic’s tape.

Pretty good!
I use this for taping shipping labels, and it’s great! The only small problem I have with it is that it can be quite hard to unravel the tape due to how sticky it is. Also, the glue residue kind of builds up in lines (but it usually goes away once I tape it on) which makes it a little blurry when taped on shipping labels.

needs some work, but I still prefer it.
I love this tape…. it does have problems sticking to a box, but I found that it sticks to itself really well, so when I tape boxes up, I just make sure that the tape ends on one side, overlap the tape ends on the other, and that usually cures all the problems.

Sticks well!
As you might expect, I used the tape to pack boxes to move. Did a great job. Wide enough to hold the bottoms together. On heavy boxes I put a second strip for my peace of mind, but it wasn’t necessary. Great price for the number of rolls you get. My left overs are being gifted to a friend who’s also packing. Not yellow or cloudy-nice and clear.

Strong but Loud
This tape really sticks to everything, which is awesome for sealing boxes. But man, is it loud! It’s kind of a weird thing to notice, but when you’re trying to pack during naptime, it suddenly matters a lot. Works great, but maybe not the best choice for houses with light sleepers.

Sticky, maybe too much; too large for some dispensers
Adhesion quality is great, but the non-sticky side material wasn’t good for allowing the tape to easily release when using a tabletop dispenser; it kept pulling the dispenser off the shelf. I then went to use it in my handheld dispenser (the simple plastic one that can be bought with the original roll), and it was too large of a diameter to fit.It will likely work in one of those larger “gun” style handheld dispensers. And the self-adhesion will likely not be an issue. Would have kept these if they worked in either of my dispensers, but they did not.You are probably fine if using a gun-style dispenser. The tape adhesive itself seemed just as good as the 3M I usually buy.

Good tape, but the smell is awful
I bought two packs of this tape last June. When I opened the shrink wrap the smell was horrid. I had read some reviews about that, so it wasn’t a complete shock. I am still using this tape today because it works well, but I feel like it needs a warning label about using in a well-ventilated space. I did do a quick search to see if anyone found if the adhesive was toxic, but I didn’t see anything about it, so I think I’m good.

Doesn’t fit red 3M dispenser and not as sticky as other brands
This tape will certainly do the trick overall, but it is frustrating that it’s too thick for my dispenser. Just have to use it manually until it gets slimmer. The adhesion on two packages I shipped yesterday seemed surprisingly lesser than other off brands I have bought on Amazon. I had to press down tape that had already peeled up form the packaging in a couple spots. Overall I think it will be fine but I won’t buy again once I run out.
