Good Value But Needs To Be Thicker
Calamine is an anti-itch medicine that works by causing a cooling sensation as it evaporates on your skin. It also dries oozing or weeping from minor skin irritation. I had 20 mosquitoe bites I needed to treat after getting bit on the 4th of July. I will never go out without repellent again. This product works as advertised. It did not have any odor that I could detect. Some people said their bottle was missing a seal. Mine had a sliver foil seal under the cap. My only complaint is that it’s very thin, so it runs and splashes everywhere. This product could be improved by making it a thicker lotion. I’m adding several photos to show the bottle, the viscosity, the product wet and then dry 30 minutes later. Hope this helps!

Good stuff.
Works great. Could be a little cheaper. I like the formula on this product, though I still add a little lemon eucalyptus to it, so the sent which I really like, is covered up by it. I also like that it has the Pramoxine HCl as added pain / itch relief.

Pregnancy itches
At 4 months pregnant my skin was stretching and I was using coco butter to avoid stretch marks. Little did I know, the coco butter started causing rashes because apparently it was over-moisturizing my skin and I developed possibly bacterial/fungal infections that caused itching and rashes all over. My doctor recommended I used this lotion and after about a week, the itching calmed and it resolved my problem with the rashes. It works!

Does its job but overpriced
The product does the job it is intended for – but I did find it (like most meds/vitamins etc,) to be way to pricey for the medication. This lotion has been around for 50 years or more and to have it so overpriced – well I guess that is the sign of the times. For some reason my local pharmacies no longer stock it on a regular basis but when they do, I’ll buy local and stock it up. One of those things you need when you need it. But sorry – if you can get it off your pharmacy shelf likely it will be a lot cheaper.

I trust Amazon Basics products
If you don’t have a bottle of Amazon Basics Medicated Calamine Anti-Itch Lotion in your medicine cabinet or under your sink with a bottle of rubbing alcohol, you should think about it. I have used calamine lotion for years as a skin analgesic skin protectant and a great anti itch lotion….and always keep a bottle with my bandages and cotton swabs. You just never know when you will need it.For instance…if you get a spider bite, ant bite, or get into poison ivy or stinging nettles…you need something to relieve the burn and itch right away. Calamine lotion has been relieving this issue for many years. It is a pink lotion with a slightly medicinal smell, but it works great. I trust the Amazon Basics brand and am glad I am back in stock with their calamine lotion.Highly recommend.

Works GREAT for pregnancy itching!
My boobs, belly and really everywhere on my body has been super itchy due to pregnancy; this stuff works great to relieve the itch! The only downside is it kinda dries into a powder or something, idk, but it kinda feels weird to touch. Once I stop rubbing it and wash my hands tho it’s fine—totally worth it!

A life-long makeup primer for oily skin!!!
Let me first address the seal issue that so many are complaining about… My bottles that purchase both had seals and a sticker atop. Now about the product… I’ve used this lotion for over 25 years as a makeup primer. And let me tell you, it’s a blessing for people with oily skin. Some brands aren’t as good as others but I found the Solimo brand to be one of the best to use for this application. Inexpensive, long lasting, floral smelling… A++++++

Lid was broken on arrival
It’s calamine lotion, which is hard to find in the stores these days as it all has other stuff mixed in. So assuming you want pure calamine lotion, you’ll love this. The issue is that the lid was cracked on arrival, and so when I opened it, it broke off completely. As long as it just sit on a shelf, I can get the lid over it, tho since it’s cracked I’m not sure how airtight it is, and of course I can’t travel with it. I don’t know if it was cracked during shipping or before that, but it was disappointing. I was too sick and too needful of the stuff to try and return it and wait for another, so I’m living with it as-is.

Dry lotion
I don’t know how to describe it other than dry lotion. It dried before you finish applying and end up needing a lot more than you think. It has a bit of a gritty texture. Doesn’t really smell like anything. All in all it does the job but I’m going through the bottle quickly.

What a Relief!
Poison oak got me over the weekend. I ordered this lotion from Amazon and received it the next day, thank goodness. My rash is pretty bad, but after I apply this lotion it tames the itch and keeps the weeping blisters almost completely dry. I highly recommend this product!

While this lotion works great, you need to be aware of several things:
I remember how great this stuff worked on me as a kid, & 50 years later, it still works great! HOWEVER, it still loses 1* for several reasons:1) It has a definite odor to it. While pleasant, I must be allergic to it, because as soon as I applied it (for the first time, indoors), I started coughing. So, I decided the next time I needed it to apply it OUTSIDE, & that made all the difference! No coughing.2) While I wouldn’t call it “greasy”, it definitely leaves a residue on your hands, which should be washing off immediately. Not that it’s going to create a health problem, but you’ll certainly leave a residue on anything you touch after that!As long as you’re aware of these 2 issues, then it’s highly recommended!

Great value for the price
We live on a farm and have goats. They love to eat poison ivy and it is good for them. But, if they happen to touch you with their faces you can end up with a poison ivy rash. So for us Calamine lotion is a must have in the medicine cabinet. Glad to have found this on Amazon at such a great price.

BUY! ITCHING / Scratching Cycle STOPPED Insect Bites!
Oldie but Goofy! Must Have! Was going out of my mind from multiple bites, including clusters! So Tormented I’d scratch a new bite, only to Reactivate ITCHING on surrounding bites that were almost healed! Do Not be put off by thin lotion. I found best to apply with fingertip to each bites. Stays on for hours providing relief and helps dry out. Would reapply for the few bites that still itched. Have been trying Everything! This stopped the Itching Cycle! Used to use for Poison Oak contact dermatitis. It is a Winner! Do yourself a favor, use bug bombs if you’re getting eaten alive! I kept waiting because I have indoor cat a d rabbit. Isolated pets, they’re fine and I’m no longer Suffering! Buy Now! Be a little patient after first or second application. You will be REWARDED tenfold for NOT Scratching!

It Works!
The calamine lotion arrived two hours after I ordered it, which was amazing, and I was very grateful because my mosquito bites were extremely itchy. The itchiness and redness, decreased right after I applied the lotion. I don’t notice any odor once I apply the lotion.From now on, I’m going to apply Deet and wear protective clothing before going out to my garden.

Do Not use on genitals.
First time using calamine, and i have poison ivy in so many places. One including my special parts and i put some of this on there in the middle of the night to soothe the itching and it burned like hell. Then a quick google search says keep away from genitals. Real responsible amazon….Anyways it helped with the itching on my legs so far.

Must have
This is a must have for everyone but especially children and during the summer where the bugs are out. My LO gets bitten so easily and this automatically calms down the itching. So she’s able to play w/o worrying about scratching the entire time. Yes, I apply big sprays of different kinds and she still gets bitten up. I carried this every time we go outside

Medicated
This is great. It’s not runny; has quite a thick texture. And it’s medicated…it really is. I can see places where I have used it healing faster than they normally would. I also use a little on my cat since we both have a Bermuda grass allergy, and the itch causes him to use his teeth and claws to scratch the itchy spots and he removes some of his hair. He also sticks his claws in me sometimes when he is sleeping in my lap which is where I get the lacerations that benefit from the composition of this brand of calamine lotion. Also, it stays on my fingers better when I am chasing Rumplestiltskin around to apply it to his bare spots. I have used calamine for years, but this is the best I have found!
