Fine when not broken
Two of these seem fine (solid, heavy, work fine), if a little dirty and scratched, as another reviewer mentioned, but one was a little separated at the seam, and the little pebbles that weight it were falling out (see pics comparing the defective one with one of the good ones). I couldn’t get it to close properly (despite quite a bit of effort), so I sealed it with hot glue and tape, and I think it will work fine, but if I cared how it looked, I would be annoyed. The price was good enough that it’s not worth sending back, which is probably what they’re counting on, but they really need to improve quality control.

These seen to be good and heavy weight BUT THEY HAVE BEEN DROPPED IN DIRT-MUD! NOT THE BOX…EACH TAPE DISPENSER HAS DIRT-MUD AND DEAD GRASS ON IT. SO BETTER AMAZON!!!

Just as you would expect from a tape dispenser
As with most of the Amazon Basics line these tape dispensers are of a good quality, easy to use, and sturdy.The tape is easy to load in and out. There is some nice foam padding on the bottom that keeps your dispenser from moving when you’re using it on a desk and there is some sand or something like sand in the bottom portion of the dispenser that adds a little weight to help keep it from moving around.

Only Model of Dispenser to Purchase
Great dispenser where the center post holding the tape is not removable. Just slides out enough to insert new roll of tape. No more having to purchase additional dispensers at the office because the center post was tossed with the empty roll of tape. Weighted with sand for stability. Bonus is great pricing.Glad to find it on Amazon as Office Depot discontinued this model and now only carries the traditional Scotch style.
