Great for headaches!
A friend of mine who gets bad migraines got this and said it was amazing, so I decided to try it out.She was right! It really, really helps with headaches.My headaches come from a brain injury, and can be quite crushing from two things.. 1- brain fatigue, and 2- if I get overheated (like from working out).This really helps me in two ways. The first way is, I can keep working when I get headaches. I get fast relief and don’t have to walk away from working on the computer and lay down any longer.. It also helps me to get rid of the REAL bad ones with just it and excedrin, so I don’t have to take the strong meds which don’t play well with the brain injury.It has internal flexible ice packs on the top of the head, and on the sides as well… Cold enough to help, but not uncomfortably cold.The second way it helps me is I can workout with it on, and push myself a little farther because it keep me cool. This probably won’t be a feature for most of you.. But if you do get headaches when your body starts to get warm, then you’ll want this.As a side note, I’ve bought this for two friends who have problems with headaches, and recommended it to two more Co workers.. And all of them love it.I do not look as cute wearing it as the girl on the ad here… So it’s not something I’d wear going to the gym per se… But it’s great to have when I need it.Also, if you have long hair, you can either wear it with your head down, or in the back where you adjust it, you can put a pony tail through…I highly recommend it.

Most comfortable ice cap
I have chronic migraines and have tried just about every style of ice pack cap on the market. My most frequent complaints of them are: they’re rock hard, heavy, wet, and just overall uncomfortable.This is hands down the most comfortable ice pack cap I’ve tried on. I like that even when it’s frozen you can roll it up – I’ve got a smaller head and it’s a bit large on but it easily rolled to fit me better. The fabric is so soft and comfortable. It doesn’t get wet even when frozen. I will say, the biggest downside is how long it stays cold compared to some of the others only about 20 minutes. I could afford to buy 2 so I did (later found out you can save a little by buying more than one directly on their website). I’ll just rotate between the two and do it that way.The reviews are a bit confusing because I think they changed the design of the caps so I believe many of the 1 star reviews are for the old design so keep that in mind.

Really helps the pain!
Just had to write a review for this product, for anyone who might be on the fence about trying it… it’s totally worth the money.I have been dealing with post concussion head pain for the last 5 years. So much so that I can’t even stand to wear hats that are even remotely snug, and I had to cut my hair short because I can no longer tolerate a ponytail (even when I am not in pain). Because of this, I assumed I wouldn’t like a product like this, I worried that it would feel too tight and be uncomfortable. Boy, was I wrong! My husband finally talked me into trying it out, and wow! It helps so much with the head pain. I only wish I had tried it sooner. I need to buy a couple more for the bad pain days so I don’t have to wait for it to re-freeze. This is so much better than just a plain ice pack. I love how it cools the whole head at once, and the fit is not too tight – just snug enough to provide comfort.I have a headache rescue medication that works by constricting the size of the blood vessels in the brain. Well, this ice beanie basically does that, but naturally, without the need for medication.I read on the company’s website that the creator of this product came up with the ice beanie after dealing with his own post concussion headaches. I am sorry that he had to also go through the pain, but very grateful for the awesome product that he created as a result.If you suffer with chronic headaches, I highly recommend trying this out!

Not to bad
I’ll have to say this is not my favorite “headache hat” I love the smooth design & I love how cold it is when you slip it on, but it doesn’t hold the “cold” very long. My migraines tend to last 4+ hrs even with meds & being in bed. I want a hat that is going to stay cold for at least an hr if not longer(my other ones do, but are not as comfortable) so it would be great if they could “fix” the coldness issue. But the comfort of the hat is perfect.

Best Cooling Cap
I bought 3 different cooling caps for migraines and this one was by far the most comfortable to wear. Unfortunately, the coldness doesn’t last long, maybe 20-30 minutes. There’s another cap style that has little ice squares all the way around, and that one definitely stayed the coolest for the longest time, but it wasn’t as comfortable to wear. Some of my migraines can be pretty severe, so longer cooling is more important to me. I’d suggest buying 2 of these and rotate wearing them for the most efficient and effective use. Good luck.

This migraine relief cap fits very comfortable. I will certainly give it that.You can easily lay down with it on…a real plus.However, it does not stay cold for long. I use it cold, keep it in my freezer. I even bought 2 – one in use and one to use when the other gets warm. I get a lot of migraines so I have several migraine head caps.I thought this was a winner – the others not comfortable to lie down while wearing. But disappointed in how fast it warms up. Maybe in about 45 minutes it feels a bit heavy with water…and no longer cold.Perhaps that will work for you – but not for me. That’s my bottom line.

I would rate it a 5 for comfort.The problem is it only stays cold for 30 minutes.I had it in freezer for 3 hours and it felt amazing for the first 15 minutes but then it quickly warmed up.Would not recommend because of the not staying cool long enough.

Sweet relief!
I ordered this based on a recommendation from someone in a headache support group I belong to. For the past 6 months, I have been suffering from debilitating daily headaches. I am seeing a neurologist, and we are trying to find a preventative treatment that works for me, but in the meantime she only wants me using rescue meds 3x a week. This means I am in excruciating pain the other 4 days. I received my Ice Beanie today and tried it for the first time. It felt so good! When the cold wears off the headache is still there, but if you like to use ice packs for headaches, you will love this product. Sure beats trying to hold an ice pack on the side of my head. I like that this cools my entire head, including the top. I love it so much that I just ordered a second one so I can rotate them. I put it in the freezer for 45 minutes and it was perfect – cold, but not too hard. The only negative I could see is that it might be kind of tight if you have a large head.

Feels Nice!
I like this product. It does help when I have a headache, but unfortunately it doesn’t replace the need for medication.My only complaint is that I need the most cold on the crown of my head, and the ice pack in that spot is a little anemic. The one over the forehead is better filled, but the cold on my forehead is painful for me. I removed the middle ice pack and turned it around. I also put a folded paper napkin between my forehead and the ice beanie, and that seems to do the trick.I’m thinking about ordering a second one so that I can rotate them in and out of the freezer. I usually wear it for about an hour at a time, but it isn’t very cold after an hour.

Their Black Friday Discount is BS
Product is decent and works well except the “ice” doesn’t last as long as I would prefer. This review is only to point out that their “discount” for black Friday is a farce. I purchased this on November 3rd 2023 for $39.99. Their current black Friday sale lists an original price of $64.99 discounted to $31.99. Implying a $33 discount. When it’s actually an $8 discount from their regular price.Before I saw the bogus sale price I was going to purchase several more for Christmas gifts and myself but not anymore. By far one of favorite every day essentials. The fit could not be more perfect, it fits on my head like a glove. The fabric is SOOO smooth, soft and comfortable. It is lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy at all. I love that the entire beanie gets cool, not just sections of it. This product is one of my favorite because it is multifunctional, I use it when I need to cool off, when I have a headache, when I do yoga/meditate, and so much more. Do yourself a favor and buy one, you will LOVE it!!!

Stays cold
I love this beanie. Also makes a good compress for my knee. It conforms to the shape and stays cold enough for the 20 minutes or so of icing.

Migraine help.
When there is a sledge hammer pounding your head, the ice beanie helps freeze out the pain. This beanie has an ice pack on all sides and on the top which I like. However for me, it is hard to get the top down to the surface of my head, the sides would be at my cheek bones, but then I have a small head. It might fit better on a person with a bigger head. I freeze the beanie on a plastic bowl to help it keep its “head” shape and eliminate as many wrinkles as possible. This works pretty well since any wrinkle will freeze in place and then you are laying on the wrinkle. The ice beanie would be even better if the cover fabric was of better quality, being a bit thicker for a litter more protection. But overall this is a very helpful product and stays on for good head coverage for back of the head, sides, temples, forehead and maybe the top and stays cold for me for close to 2 hours. I would definitely recommend it.

I’m impressed
The first time I used the I was hesitant that it would even work. However, after 10 minutes, my headache was gone. Couple days later I had another headache and tried it again and again it worked. I’m now using it for the third time and again within 10 minutes, my headache is gone.I was happy to see that I didn’t get my hair wet being that it was put in the freezer to get cold. I expected it to be wet as it thawed. But that didn’t happen. The first time I headache was 2 o’clock in the morning, so I just took it off and put it on the chair next to my bed. It started to come back again a couple hours later and I didn’t think the Would work being that had been out of the freezer for a couple hours but it was still cool and I put it back on and again it worked.I have to say, I’m very impressed. The only thing is when you’re having a bad headache and you put it on the cold against your forehead actually hurts. So what I did was I took my fingers and place them between my forehead and the cap for a few seconds until, the pain went away, then I removed my fingers and when it got too cold again right on my forehead I did that once again. That was the only place that it hurt but I guess that’s right where you have your headache so I’m not surprised.This is a really marvelous product and I’m so glad I bought it.

Leaking gel
I was looking forward to using this productsince it would be preferable to a traditional uncomfortable ice pack. I like the weight and feel of it as well as the coverage. Unfortunately, when I took it out of the sealed bag, it was leaking on the edge of the cap. I am returning it for another to give it another try.

Good concept but too tight.
I loved the idea of this ice beanie. I suffer from occipital neuralgia and like to alternate ice and heat and I thought this beanie would be great. It stays cold and is super easy to use. That being said it is really snug and is a bit uncomfortable.

great for hot work
I didn’t buy this for migraine but to cool me down at work. for that purpose it works great. cools me down instantly and stays cold for a very long time. really glad I bought it. warning, if u put it straight on after talking it out of the freezer you will get brain freeze lol.

Brain freeze hat
Wearing this straight out of the freezer is a guaranteed way to give me a brain freeze. It needs a few minutes to warm up a little before it’s wearable. Due to this issue, I have had better luck using it as a flexible ice pack of sorts and just rolling it up and placing it behind my head.

Cold
This stays cold a little longer than any of the other ones of purchased. The only down side for me is it is too big ontop and doesn’t touch the top of my head unless I pull it over my face. I probably have a short forehead or something, idk. I can fold it up or push it back in areas and I like the cold it gives off. I use this one more than my other 3.

Migraine Saver
We have a couple different ice packs/hats and this one is our clear favorite! It’s so absolutely soft and not bulky at all. It’s very cold for about 10-15 minutes, but relatively quick to refreeze. We love it so much we are buying another to have in rotation while we have one in use!

Overpriced, questionable durability
I have constant sinus headaches and keep seeking something other than hot washcloths for relief. The IceBeanie is very similar to at least a dozen gel-filled foam caps that fit over the head. It is better than most of those in two ways. First, it has only one seam on the main headband. Most of the gel-filled caps have two. Whenever there is a seam, there is no heat, there are two edges that tend to become hotter than the main body of the hood, and at the seam the cover fabric is more vulnerable to blistering or tearing after a month or two of frequent use. Secondly, it is more comfortable than most of the other pain relief hoods I have tried.Negatives: 1. Its major claim to fame is that unlike every other pain relief hood that I have seen, it has a top cover that makes the hood more like a winter ski cap than a strange open ended circle. However, this top cap did not contribute in any way to treating my facial and forehead pain, and it is attached to the main headband in a way that looks vulnerable to damage after a month or two of constant use.2. The box and Amazon written description states that for heat therapy, place the hood in a microwave for 10 seconds. I hoped this meant that the IceBeanie had some special proprietary gel filling that heated up much faster than the 50-60 seconds all the others I have used. Sadly, 10 seconds is not sufficient to bring the IceBeanie up to a therapeutic level of heat. As with all other gel-filled pain treatment hoods, in my microwave it takes the same 50 to 60 seconds (when at room temperature). My problem with that is there is a clear inference on the package and in the written Amazon description that it only takes 10 seconds to bring this product to a therapeutic temperature. False.3. As with most but not all pain relief hoods I have tried, this cap fully covers the ears, with the same level of heat as over the face and forehead. Especially if using the hood through 2 or 3 microwave heatings to achieve a 15 to 20 minute relief session, that amount of heat becomes painful. One gel cap I have tried has a cutout to avoid the ears, similar to cutouts for the nose on many pain relief caps.Final comment. When heating a pain-relief hood, I find it important to turn the hood over half way through the microwave heating process. This is a step that may be obvious to some, but several of the hoods I have have tried, from Amazon and elsewhere, do not give that simple yet critical instruction.Also, every gel-filled hood that I have tried retains a therapeutic level of heat for only about 5 to 7 minutes, just a little longer than a hot washcloth, and if you re-heat the cap before it has fully cooled to room temperature, much less microwave time is required on each side. Again this may be obvious to some, but finding the right amount of time for re-microwaving during longer treatment sessions can be a a matter of trial and error. Caution: putting an overheated gel-filled cap on the head can cause serious burns & pain. And on most of this type of cap, any edge tends to get a little hotter than the main body. Be careful picking them up, and watch your ears.

Worked great for chemo cold-capping until gel leaked out– Did get a replacement
Update: Customer service did send me a replacement, although it took a while– after I sent them the pictures shown here, and they had agreed to replace the beanie, and confirmed my shipping address on October 12, I had to contact them again on October 29 as I still had not received the replacement. At that time they seemed to indicate that they hadn’t yet “initiated” a replacement… I received the replacement beanie a couple days later. Regarding the leakage, I was told “Sometimes during Amazon shipping the product can become compromised and damaged.” I’m not sure if that’s accurate/possible, but they were willing to work with me to ensure my customer satisfaction.Having used the original beanie (with substituted ice packs for broken top pack as I previously mentioned, below) for 12 chemo rounds now (30 mins or less per time), I find the stitching has come undone along one seam- easy fix, but this product still needs some tweaking for that and with the ice packs. I do like how the beanie fabric stretches to better enable you to get it on when it’s frozen/rigid, and to keep the cold close to the scalp, though the seams may need greater reinforcement to ensure longevity of use. It would also be good if the pockets for the ice packs had a Velcro closure rather than just slightly overlapping fabric (I tried to show this barely 1 cm overlap in picture) as the fabric is floppy and after removing and then replacing the packs while the beanie is inside out, it doesn’t hold them in well when inverting it to then put the beanie in the freezer.An option for a beanie without the ponytail/back of head gap in coverage would also be good, and not just for chemo use– when I get a migraine it is often caused by/related to the muscles at the base of my skull and icing there helps me. Turning the beanie around doesn’t work so great because then the Velcro closure part is pressing into your forehead. The ice packs, once frozen, are very hard/non-pliable so some of them freeze in wonky positions when placing the cap in freezer folded in half, so they’re not very comfortable if a part isn’t flat and is pressing against your head… I really like the IceKaps brand gel packs because they are much more pliable when frozen, so I almost think using those in the beanie is better than what comes with it currently (at least for my purposes with cold-capping trying to get whole head cold).Overall, I think I would still have purchased the IceBeanie as the fabric is more pliable and the product is less expensive than the IceKaps, but for my purposes I have used both and each gets the job done ok with some improvisation- if you can afford the IceKaps, I’d lean towards them for cold-capping because of the colder ice packs. I have also used the NEWGO migraine hat- reviewed that product separately on Amazon, too. I still have not had any hair loss, and have 4 more chemo treatments with different drugs, so I am hoping to continue that good fortune! 🤞Original review:I bought this with several other cold cap products (e.g. including 3 of the IceKaps brand) to use in rotation for “cold-capping” during my weekly chemotherapy infusion treatments to try and prevent/reduce hair loss from the drug Taxol, which is commonly used for breast cancer treatments. Well, so far I’ve had virtually no hair loss beyond usual shedding, which is great, BUT, when I went to replace the non-frozen gel packs in their hat pockets in preparation for next week’s treatment (after letting all the packs and hat melt/dry out from my treatment earlier this week) I found one of the packs had two holes from which gel was leaking out. 🙁 And the holes weren’t directly on seams which I find is usually how ice packs (though usually much older/more used!) deteriorate/break/leak; the holes looked as if the plastic had cracked while it was frozen; not sure how else it would have happened as it’s not like they were under pressure or poked, roughly handled, etc? I’ve only used the beanie 6 times, wearing it for less than 30 minutes each time, and while it works great in general, it is very disappointing to find part of it is now unusable/ needing to be replaced with an alternative cold pack though finding a long narrow pack is not an easy task- fortunately, the IceKap has such packs for its use and I was able to purchase spare packs for that product separately– not so with the ice beanie, at least not that I could find. While half the price of the IceKap, it appears the ice beanie isn’t as durable. And I had to add an ice pack to the back ponytail area (wearing it under the ice beanie) since for my purposes I don’t want a large portion of my head without ice coverage) but had to do the same with the IceKaps due to similar structures.I contacted customer service and am hoping to get a replacement pack; also hoping no more packs leak! I’m barely halfway through my treatments! I will update if I hear back from customer service and they hold true to their 100% guarantee (despite their website saying they can’t refund/replace products 30+ days after purchase, just like Amazon.

Helps with regulating body temp!
I have dysautonomia and have a hard time regulating my body temperature in the heat. This beanie enables me to take walks in the summer in LA! Unfortunately it only stays cold for about 15mins (not 40mins like others have said).Anyway, for me it’s worth it. It’s also helped me with nervous system regulation. Some therapists recommend putting your head in the freezer when you are in fight or flight. This is a bit more convenient :)Fits well and snug without being too tight. Stays on your head without slipping.All in all, thumbs up!Only downside: it smells awful upon arrival. It has faded some. Hope it goes away all the way.
