Not strong enough for chronic GERD
As someone who suffers from chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease, I was hoping to find something that would work and be cheaper than the name brands for my acid reflux. I had been taking Omeprazole aka Prilosec for over a year after I was forced to stop taking Zantac during the recall for the main ingredient which was banned from the market. After recently changing insurance plans and a virtual doctor visit, I was told to stop taking Prilosec with the prescription medication I take so I had to find something that worked and did interact with my medication so I decided to try this instead of buying Zantac and while it takes longer to work than I hoped, it seems to be making my acid reflux worse than when I took Zantac. I give it 3 stars because I like the cool mint flavor and it is a great price for 100 pills, but unfortunately I am stuck with having to take the name brand stuff because it works faster and helps me feel better.

I’m very disappointed in the new pill of this.
Did you guys change the product of this? It used to be a round pill and in a different bottle and I’ve noticed the last few times it has come in a different bottle and the pill is different. This doesn’t work like the old one.

Good alternative
With the price of everything else, it’s hard to make your money stretch. These non-name brand meds on Amazon, really help. These work just as well as a prescription of Famotidine that my doctor prescribed. It’s probably the exact thing the RX uses. But these cost me less than Pepcid, so I’ll stick with them.

Why Pay for Brand Names
This is exactly the same as Pepcid for a fraction of the cost! Tiny little pills, even the most sensitive pill swallower will find these easy to take; barely even need water. After using for a few weeks I can testify they work just like those national brands.

As good as anything from the store, and whole lot more convenient!
I take two of these and two of Basic Care Omeprazole morning and night to keep my GERD under control. The regimen isn’t cheap, even buying OTC from the big “WG” (not naming names here) – but buying these regularly off Amazon has made it a tad more affordable, and much more convenient. They aren’t any different that I can tell from what I used to buy; they do the job they are intended to do.So, if you find yourself with coughing fits after eating, or a near constant cough after eating “crap” (you know what I mean) – do what I did:Start with one of these and one Omeprazole, in the morning and at night, and do that for about a week or two and see if your symptoms improve. If not, double it up. This is basically the regimen you would get from a doctor, and those levels are still low doses for GERD (you have to be doing about 10 of each twice daily before blood work is needed). Or, go to your doctor, spend a bunch of money, and get the same as an Rx – either way, you’ll end up on the same regimen.Oh – and the standard “eat less and get more exercise” – ie, lose weight, eat better stuff (more fruits and veggies, less fast food), and drink plenty of water – then go for a walk (so far I’ve lost over 10 lbs after doing this for about a month, plus reduced my BP to something closer to normal – I still have a ways to go).Also – don’t fret about not being able to have the things you enjoy – every now and then, splurge a bit – get that Big Mac or fried chicken meal – then go back to the low cal stuff and salads for the rest of the week. Don’t try to take it off all at once and fast, either – you’ll just balloon back up and then some (this is something your body and brain does; there are plenty of recent studies about it). Also, look into CLA (leptin) pills to fight the cravings, and take the weight off gradually – as slow as you put it on (whatever you feel that is – but somewhere around one pound a month is probably about right for most people). Nothing to back this up, but I think if you diet, exercise, and slowly back the truck up, so to speak, you’ll ultimately be able to keep it off long term without feeling like you’re starving all the time.BTW – I am NOT a doctor, just another ordinary joe fighting with his weight – but so far winning – and these Famotidine tablets, while not for weight loss, at least let me get good rest at night without waking up choking from burning reflux (not a fun thing) – and that’s always a good thing for your health and weight loss!

Allows me to sleep thru the night
As I grow older the foods that I love seem to come back on me. Not during the day, when I’m awake, but at night when I am suppose to be sleeping. I have been taking this Amazon generic version of famotidine for years. When I think the food will bother me, I simply take one before bedtime and I am never bothered with indigestion that will wake me up. The price is great and it works as well as the Name brands. I highly recommend this acid reducer!
